While the notion of splitting a box of chicken nuggets is usually dangerous territory, at least for me and my friends, McDonald's new commercial seems to believe that it is enough to mend long-standing feuds.

Okay, so it's not like McD's is actually trying to bring the archenemies together, but their new promotional material wants the pair to knock off all the hate and enjoy some fries and burgers.

Batman and the Joker weren't the only familiar faces to make an appearance in this commercial. This short one minute spot is heavy on the pop culture references and aesthetically pleasing to boot! Here are some of my favorite foes facing off over fast food:

Batman and the Joker

This is a slightly different Batman physique from what I'm used to. Maybe a few too many cheeseburgers? Oh well! At least he and the Joker are getting along.

Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West

Friendship levels high enough to take a selfie while riding a broom. I just hope they don't get pulled over.

Spongebob and Plankton

"F" is for friends who share fast food together. But to be honest, I'd take a Krabby Patty over any other burger in the world. Hands down.

Freddy and Jason

They became friends when they realized they had what the other one needed. What are chicken nuggets without dipping sauce?! Well, still chicken nuggets, but still.

Mario and Bowser

There's no food involved in this apology so that's how you know it's real.

The Smurfs and Gargamel

Pshh the Smurfs are like, "Hey Gargamel want to share some McDonald's? Psyche! You can only have the apples."

Wile E Coyote and the Roadrunner

An Acme explosion of love. How sweet!

King Kong and a Military Plane

Aww I always knew King Kong was just a big softie. Like one of those giant stuffed animals you win at the carnival.

Grumpy Cat

I'm not sure if Grumpy Cat can really smile, but I'll take this little smirk as a good sign.

My gut is telling me two things: 1. The Joker and Batman will only get along until the food is gone like this and 2. I'm hungry.

McDonald's Chief Marketing Officer Deborah Wahl spoke about their new campaign on Friday saying:

Lovin’ sits at the heart of our tagline. And it sits at the heart of our business. We are putting lovin’ into everything we do: our food, our restaurants, our people, and most importantly our community.

Well McDonald's, today your community is our community.
