With all the hype surrounding Marvel/Netflix's upcoming shows ([Daredevil](movie:47230), aka Jessica Jones, Cage, Iron Fist, Marvel's The Defenders) fans can only speculate what Phase 2 may bring us. My theory? The Thunderbolts!

A team composed of Red Hulk, [Deadpool](movie:38663), Elektra, Agent Venom, Punisher, and most recently, Ghost Rider, debuted as a part of the Marvel NOW! major relaunch.

The Team decides that they can't do only missions for Red Hulk, as none truly trust him, so a system of give and take missions is developed, in which the team does a mission for General Ross, then a mission for a random member. The first random name pulled for a member is Punisher, who chooses a mission to take out a crime family in New York. The story arc includes tie ins to Infinity. Red Leader begins to get his brain siphoned by Thanos' assistant, but is saved by Red Hulk. Afterwords, Red Leader starts having visions of how to kill every member of the Team, but determines that something is wrong with his plan, there was an unseen variable that stopped him from succeeding.

As many of you remember, General "Thunderbolt" Ross played a big role in 2008's The Incredible Hulk and is past-due a return to the MCU.

Another character we were briefly introduced to in The Incredible Hulk, was Dr. Samuel Sterns, and as you all know, we saw him beginning his transformation into the villain we know him as, The Leader.

I'm 99.9% sure that we will be introduced to Elektra in Netflix's upcoming Daredevil which could pave the way for the Thunderbolts series. I'm also convinced we will see the Punisher in either Daredevil or Cage. As far as Ghost Rider goes, he can be introduced anytime and through a solo show, as Marvel Studios owns the rights to him.

However, Marvel does not own the rights to two if the most bad-ass characters on the team, Deadpool (Fox) and Agent Venom (Sony)

If the 40/60 negotiations rumor with Marvel and Sony turns out to be true, than we should be able to see Agent appear with no problem, however, after the success of the recent [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) and a Deadpool movie due to release in 2016, it is highly unlikely we will see the Merc with a Mouth appear on this roster. I do think he can be easily replaced with Blade though.

So what do you guys think? Should Marvel go forward and put a Thunderbolts show into development? Or it would it be better on film?
