An actor who appeared in movies such as Star Wars: Episode 1, Batman Begins and the James Bond movie Skyfall has collapsed and died during a stage rehearsal for a theater production.

Khan Bonfils (also known as Kan) was rehearsing for Dante's Inferno, which was due to open at The Rag Factory in London later this week, when he unexpectedly collapsed.

Members of the Craft Theater company and ambulance crews fought to save his life at the scene, but the actor could not be resuscitated.

Chris Hislop, a spokesman for the theater, issued the following statement about the tragic death:

Kan collapsed during a rehearsal and the director Rocky Rodriguez Jr, he performed CPR on location. An ambulance was called out but unfortunately he couldn't be resuscitated. The cause of death has yet to be ascertained.

Hislop went on to add that the cast and crew were all utterly devastated by Kan's death. He told the press that:

The entire company are in shock. There is absolutely severe sadness, it is a real tragedy. I think they are holding it together by talking it through and by being there for each other.

Mr. Bonfils is best know for his appearance as Jedi master Saesee Tinn in Star Wars: Episode 1, but you may also remember him from Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life and Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow.
