Let's face it, Silent Hills was one of the biggest reveals (if not THE biggest...I'm a serious Kojima fan) for a horror game the industry has ever seen. Hideo Kojima AND Guillermo Del Toro directing?! And then we see that Norman Reedus is starring in it? Incredible! The release date for the game has been placed as 2016, but what about Capcom's Resident Evil 7?!

As of late Capcom have been doing quite a disservice for the glorious franchise that is Resident Evil. Resident Evil 6 was a serious disappointment and we really shouldn't even mention Operation Raccoon City. So what lies ahead for the series and for Capcom?

Okabe has recently referenced this serious dip in performance:

I think what we really need to do is take a serious look at what makes the series itself, look at all the constituent part, if resource management is important to survival horror, then why is it important, what does it mean, and what do these varying elements mean to the franchise? How can we then take that and work with modern technology?

Can Capcom stay true to this word and actually alter the way in which they've been developing the Resident Evil games as of late? They say that survival horror doesn't generate a great following, but then, neither do terrible games.

So, there have been many reports that Resident Evil 7 is in the making and it's not just Resident Evil: Revelations 2. They've stated that they have wanted to split the franchise into these two separate avenues. If RE 7 is indeed in the works, will we see it before Kojima's Silent Hills and which title are you more excited for?

Being an avid fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, my excitement for Silent Hills can barely be contained. The likes of Pan's Labyrinth further secure the hopes that Del Toro and Kojima can do some extraordinary work together and the Silent Hill series was always the more cinematically engaging for me.

With an actual rough release date for Silent Hills set, you'd think that it would be a fast release. But I assume that Hideo Kojima is seriously tied up with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and won't be able to dedicate his full attention to the horror title for a while. Perhaps Capcom can churn their Resident Evil 7 game out beforehand.

Check out this article too - Star Wars: Battlefront or this New EA Open World Star Wars Game?!

But in any case, which game would you want to see first? A presumably far better Resident Evil 7, or Silent Hills? Let us know in the comments!!

Which horror title would you pick?!
