Universal have announced that the fifth "Bourne" film which will reunite Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass will be moved to the release date of July 29th 2016, a date previously held by the third "Planet Of The Apes" film.

The untitled fifth "Bourne" film was announced back in November and with that came the presumption that the continuation of Jeremy Renner's "Bourne" story was being shelved for the time being. I was in the camp that kind of enjoyed the last "Bourne" film starring Renner, I thought he was a very nice fit for the franchise, I just felt the film was really lacking action.

Damon had previously stated that he was only willing to return to the franchise if Paul Greengrass came back as the director and both maintained that they would only return if the story was worth telling.

I am a huge fan of the first three Bourne films and cannot wait to see Damon's return to the franchise after all these years. Are you guys excited for [Bourne 5](movie:423881) in the summer of 2016?
