Tom Clancy's The Division continues to lack in the release date department, even though it was initially revealed to be a 2014 title. We know that Ubisoft seem to have no problem with shoving a game that isn't finished yet out the door, so The Division must have been at a very early stage of development to be pushed this far back. Are they having issues, and is it there last chance to win us back on PS4 and Xbox One?!

2014 will go down as a year of disappointments and broken games. The indie scene thrived, but in terms of big blockbuster titles, the likes of Assassin's Creed: Unity and the horrendous issues with matchmaking in Halo: The Master Chief Collection (otherwise a remarkable achievement unlike the former) demonstrated the problems studios have had with pushing games out that weren't ready for the light of day.

Tom Clancy's The Division on Xbox One & PS4!

The two huge failures on Ubisoft's part this year came with Assassin's Creed: Unity and The Crew. The latter was one of the most boring games I've played in a while. It's driving was nowhere near engaging and its physics were awful. I had constant problems with connections and would lose tons of progress after being booted off. Not a very promising display of an online game with The Division on the way.

These issues garnered Ubisoft quite an awful reputation this year, and it happened very quickly. But Watch Dogs even had its controversies after the graphics quality dropped so significantly and the game actually wasn't as great as we were all hoping.

It wasn't a great year for Ubisoft's leading titles. Valiant Hearts and Child of Light were extraordinary achievements!! More money into these kind of games please Ubisoft!! But the question remains, if after all of this waiting and all of this delaying...what if Tom Clancy's The Division was awful on the Xbox One and PS4?

I really feel like that could be a serious blow for the reputation of this developer/publisher. I've long since lost interest in their Assassin's Creed series and I've no desire to return to it. But the Division seems like an excellent game, and they've shown how great a game they can make. But perhaps online isn't their thing?

Am I the only one that feels concerned for the future of The Division? Will it be met with all of the server issues of The Crew? If so, Ubisoft are not going to generate the kind of following that they long to have with this big MMO. Let's face it, they are going to lose their following very quickly if the game is filled with connection issues.

Imagine if it got Master Chief's connection issues?! Only reason people persisted and waited with that title was because it was Halo. If we get a new IP that doesn't work, why would we bother sticking around waiting for it to do so? Ubisoft have made some great titles in the past and I seriously want The Division to be added to the list of their successes.
