The biggest Vampire Diaries storyline of season 6 so far is undoubtedly the merge ceremony that is threatening to destroy Alaric's new love and Kai's estranged sister, Jo.

Of course, the question on everybody's lips is will Jo have the power to defeat Kai if they are the twins from the Gemini coven that are forced to merge, and what are the possible outcomes.

Because this is obviously all a matter of educated guessing, I thought it would be a good idea to get you lovely people involved to see what your thoughts are on this contentious topic.

Who Will Be Merge Master?

The latest episode synopsis has done a great job of striking fear into our hearts about Jo's abilities by informing us that she is a lot weaker than Liv and Luke initially thought, but is that all just smoke and mirrors?

A part of me wants to think that the writers will not let evil prevail, but Kai has a lot more potential to drive storylines along and something tells me we won't be seeing the back of him for a while yet.

But, would the Vampire Diaries writers really be cruel enough to rip another girlfriend from Alaric's side thanks to forces of the supernatural?

Is Kai really as strong as he appears now he is syphoning the Traveller magic?

I just don't know anymore! What do you guys think?

Who do you think will be victorious in the merge?

The Side Effects of Sorcery

If Kai and Jo do indeed face the merger, things will obviously not be as clean cut as one of them disappearing seamlessly into thin air. This is [The Vampire Diaries](series:200853) after all!

There will obviously be some serious side effects to essentially absorbing the other twin, and maybe this is a way for Kai's diabolical, plot driving character to live on without killing Jo.

Yep, that's right, I'm suggesting that even in Jo wins she might absorb some of Kai's evil and unstable nature. This dudes mania and bloodlust are clearly incredibly strong, so I wouldn't be surprised if it overpowered her.

That's just my humble theory though. What do you think could be the side effects of the merge?

What side effects do you think could happen as a result of the merge?

If this round of we ask, you answer gets decent numbers and interaction, then I will publish another edition next week about the possibility of Liv and Luke facing the merge.

I kind of think these might be the twins to face each other. Not only will it be about a billion times more emotional to see these two loving siblings face the consequence, but there must also be a reason the writer have done so little with Luke this season...

Roll on the 22nd of January! I'm getting more and more excited every day!
