Being a huge comic book fan, there a more than a few series' that I think deserve a big screen debut and who knows, maybe one day we will be lucky enough to see some of these literary gems envisioned with a Hollywood budget. Until that day comes however, lets take a look at some of the great possibilities that the Comic-Book world has to offer...

5 - X-Force

What it's about - X-force is - to put it in it's most basic comparison - Marvel's version of Suicide Squad, or to put it in Deadpool's words...

We do the dirty work so the "All-Ages" X guys and gals don't have to.
When I say "dirty work" I mean going stabby stabby on the really nasty bad guys. And doing it in a covert, sneaky, top-secret kinda way. Because no one can ever know that X-Force exists That's kind of our mission statement.

X-Force has had a few different line-ups over the years but the more notable characters involved are: Wolverine, Fantomex, Psylocke, Deadpool, Cable and Archangel. They come together to form the top-secret group tasked with the missions that - well let's be honest - involve killing people.

Why it should be a movie/TV series - This series would make a great TV show considering that the mission-based layout of the stories would leave an endless stream of possibilities for future story arcs in continuum. However, the problem with this would be the high level of characters involved. It is very unlikely that Wolverine or Deadpool are going to have TV counterparts anytime soon, due to their massive fan bases. Getting these characters wrong would be entirely show destroying, and with a much smaller budget than a Hollywood movie it is not as easy to meet expectations of the masses as some people may think. Therefore, the vote goes towards this being a much better option for a film/movie adaption so that this awesome group can be done justice. I am well aware that this was being talked about/in development at one stage, but due to the mess surrounding it and the uncertainty it is far from a definite thing and this is the only reason that it hasn't made it's way further up the list, because this one actually may be happening someday... Maybe.

4 - Transmetropolitan

What it's about - Transmetropolitan is the story of a no-bulls**t journalist from the future who isn't afraid to crack some skulls to put some scumbags correct. Now, this isn't just any future, it's not just flying cars and food pills. This is a future of human/alien and human/machine voluntary hybrids who live among "normal" society (sometimes to the disdain of others), as well as pretty much every other messed up thing that you could think of, for example...

“Yesterday, here in the middle of the City, I saw a wolf turn into a Russian ex-gymnast and hand over a business card that read YOUR OWN PERSONAL "TRANSHUMAN SECURITY WHORE! STERILIZED INNARDS! ACCEPTS ALL CREDIT CARDS" to a large man who had trained attack cancers on his face and possessed seventy-five indentured Komodo Dragons instead of legs. And they had sex. Right in front of me. And six of the Komodo Dragons spat napalm on my new shoes.”

Yeah... So that happens...

Spider Jerusalem, our sociopatihic anti-hero, is never at a loss for a story to find in the corrupted cities of the future and always manages to stay two steps ahead of the game as he proves to the world that he is Spider Jerusalum and he is a "massive bast**d!" And if people don't wanna let him do his thing? Well, they may just end up taking a "bowl disrupter" set on 'prolapse' to the gut.

Why it should be a movie/TV series - I don't think this would make it as television series for the main reason that to really get the feel of the crazy of Spider and the world around him it may encounter some censorship issues whereas you have more leniency when it comes to shooting a movie.

The characters are great the stories are insane and hilarious and if you haven't already, then you need to check out the 10 volumes of Transmetropolitan because you will not be disappointed if you like the crazy and unexpected.

3 - Grifter (The New 52)

What it's about - Grifter is Cole Cash, a former U.S. Army Special Ops soldier who went A.W.O.L and gave up his military career to become a con-man.

After being abducted by aliens known as Daemonites and waking up two and a half weeks later during an attempt to posses his body, Cole escaped the alien ship but subsequently acquired telepathic abilities as a side effect of the attempted possession. While on a plane, Cash is alerted to the presence of some Daemonites by his new telepathic powers and in turn, hijacks the plane and kills the Daemonites. This however leads him to not only being chased by aliens but by many government agencies as well as his own brother, Max. Cash takes a simple mask from a store and adopts the mantle of "GRIFTER." Later on Grifter acquires very powerful telekinetic powers as well.

Why it should be a movie/TV series - Although, I do think that Grifter would make a good movie, I think that it would make a much better TV series. One of the main reasons for this is because throughout his many appearances in comics and media (and alternate universes), the Grifter has had quite a few affiliations with different groups (Suicide Squad, Team 7). This leads way to the possibility of a lot of new characters, story lines, or just cameos in general. Apart from the scale of new character possibility, it has a great story and Cole Cash is just generally a bad**s from beginning to end.

2 - Deathstroke (The New 52)

What it's about - At sixteen, Slade Wilson lied about his age and joined the army. He quickly became a legend of combat and was selected to be part of 'Team 7.' While on a mission he became badly injured and as a result was experimented on by doctors in an aid to save his life and create a "Super-Soldier." The experiment was a success, giving Slade increased strength, speed, stamina, healing and intelligence. Since then Slade has secured his name as the greatest assassin on earth, a killer for hire with a definite outcome.

Why it should be a movie/TV series - Everybody loves Deathstroke. I mean, c'mon why wouldn't you? He is an absolute bad**s with a proven track record of "Bringing the ruckus!" when it comes to any situation. Deathstroke would make a fantastic television show if one thing were to happen to it... And that one thing is Manu Bennett.

Manu Bennett's performance of Deathstroke in the TV show Arrow was great, but more importantly it was great for TV, that is something that doesn't happen often with such beloved characters. Taking all of this into consideration, it doesn't mean that a Deathstroke movie wouldn't be great, it would be amazing if done right, and who knows? Maybe if they portray him well in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie (possibly... maybe?) there might be enough backing from the public to convince big Hollywood to give him a solo film.

1 - Trinity Of Sin: Pandora

What it's about - Pandora is a character that is responsible for creating the "New 52 Universe" at the the end of the "Flashpoint" series and was hidden in the pages of every single first issue of DC's New 52 line-up. She is the Pandora of legends, the Pandora who opened a box and unleashed the archaic seven sins of man upon the world around her. Because of this she was sentenced to walk the earth forever in a state of "undeath," she was cursed with scars that would burn constantly and she was forced to feel all the pain she had caused with her entire being. Throughout the years she trained and she trained hard. and can now in her own words...

"Strike through the veil that separates the living world from the spirits beyond."
Taking fools down after a bullet in the skull...
Taking fools down after a bullet in the skull...

Why it should be a movie/TV series - As I said earlier, Pandora was hidden in the pages of every "New 52" line-up of DC's comics. This means that there is no story, no tale, no whisper in an alley that Pandora couldn't theoretically be a part of in the DC Universe. There are endless possibilities, alongside her crazy action skills she is practically immortal and has a mission that she will finish at all costs. I think that this would make a great movie but would be much better for a TV series once again due to the possibility of cameos and new stories (throughout time even).

If you would like to know more about Pandora you can read my previous article by clicking here.

Well that's it, I am sure that you guys all have a lot of ideas and suggestions of what you think would be good/better for the big or little screens, and that's awesome.
