Unfortunately, we are a long way from discovering some new info about Bioware's Mass Effect 4, but I'm sure 2015 will have some news in store for us all! I doubt we'll catch news of the release date of the title for the PC, Xbox One and PS4, but who knows? But the question remains, does your ending in Mass Effect 3 have an impact on the story?!
We're all well aware of the controversy and downright outrage that took place after the conclusion of the Mass Effect trilogy. The series was absolutely adored. I didn't have a single friend not playing that game when ME3 first came out. We couldn't wait to get our hands on it. Naturally, the ending conversation was fascinating, but did any of it matter for Mass Effect 4?!
Mass Effect 4 - YOUR ME3 Ending Doesn't Matter
For many players, the above image conjures up a sense of rage and the feeling of utter disrespect. Mass Effect 3's ending was one that made little to no sense for anyone, even in terms of its own lore. It saw years of work and hours of gameplay destroyed in one moment that we had no CHOICE in impacting upon. We just changed the colour of how it all went down.
Perhaps, Bioware were thinking forward in terms of the series. Perhaps they saw the only way for them to carry on with a future plot line was to force one particular situation upon everyone's save files. But there were still fundamental differences with each one...are they going to be ignored in Mass Effect 4?
In order to continue with this new world, Bioware are more than likely going to have to opt for one of the three options they presented us with in Mass Effect 3. This will dictate the kind of world that we see in ME4. Yet again, this decision may be forced upon us, rather than allowing for it to be a progressive and singular experience for the players.
Perhaps there will be a Mass Effect Remastered Trilogy package that will be released before the 4th instalment. In fact I'm sure that this is being seriously considered by Bioware, and I'd love to have all my saves fresh in mind and on the same console I play 4 on...but will it matter when I make that final decision? Will there be a new ending?
With the Mass Relays destroyed, how will we be able to venture to other clusters of planets and uncover new cultures and lifeforms? Are we just going to be transported to a whole new side of the galaxy, one that actually does have relays? Or perhaps the game takes place so far into the future that they've actually been rebuilt?
We have a long time to wait until we get some concrete ideas. It's difficult to think that bioware would disrespect their players in such a way as to now force a new beginning upon them after the conclusion of the last title. But maybe they were just forcing a world upon us so they had something to work with for Mass Effect 4...what do you think?
Of course, there are some choices that will be different from other people's that may have an effect upon Mass Effect 4, such as whether Earth was destroyed or your companions survived (but where the hell was everyone else on the Normandy?! And obviously Talion and Garrus are doomed to die on the planet they arrive on because they can't eat anything on it).

These small things may carry over to Mass Effect 4, but in general, I feel that a great number of people's endings will be ignored for ME4! What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know in the comments!
