(This isn’t a plot heavy episode, but I’m including a spoiler alert nonetheless.)

HBO’s sometimes dramatic, sometimes comedic saga of four twenty-somethings trying to become adults in New York City has hit its technical peak in the beginning of its fourth season. “Iowa” spends its run time checking in with all the main characters of Girls as Hannah (Lena Dunham) is leaving New York to get her MFA at Iowa Writer’s Workshop leaving Adam (Adam Driver) alone, but an up and coming actor in New York. Writers Dunham and Apatow get the main cast together by having them go to Marnie (Allison Williams) and Desi’s (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) jazz brunch gig. This is the probably the last time they will be together for a while as Hannah is going to Iowa, and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is entering the workforce.
