Ok, I don't mean to alarm anybody but [The Vampire Diaries](series:200853) showrunner Julie Plec, and series creator Kevin Williamson know how the series is going to end, and it will probably (read: definitely) make you cry.
I'll just let you process that before we get to the details...
Talking to critics at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena on Sunday, Julie Plec revealed during a panel that she and Williamson came up with an ending for the series way back when filming Season 2 in 2010. She said:
Kevin and I came up with and then cried over our perfect ending, and really stuck to that for many, many years and now the show has actually gone on, and will most likely go on a bit longer than we ever dreamt of. So [the ending has] evolved, but it’s still rooted in that same idea.
WHAT?! I can't even comprehend that The Vampire Diaries will one day end, let alone the fact that they already know how it will end!
But what was Ian Somerhalder's response to this mysterious bombshell: “That could not have been more evasive!” Damn straight, Ian! Way to deprive us of specific information, guys!
However, no matter what the ending will or won't be (hopefully a Delena happily ever after?!), at least it won't be happening for at least another season, due to the fact that The Vampire Diaries and [The Originals](series:833141)have both been renewed for new seasons! I cannot express how happy I am that at least we have a whole season and a half before it's even possible that this ending could be on screens!
Are you sad to know that they already know what the ending for The Vampire Diaries will be?
