A lot of people, myself included, weren't overly thrilled with the most recent Transformers Franchise movies. That does not mean us dissenters have given up hope for a redemption with [Transformers 5](movie:1325503), which is set to hit theaters June 24, 2016. However, as far as blockbusters go, I don't see it as a sure-fire hit, the way that I believe [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) promises to deliver.

The video below of Peter Cullen (Voice of Optimus Prime) talking is quite long, so give it a watch if you have time, but one of the takeaways that I had from it was that the movies (5 & 6) are going to go back to the bread and butter, and leave behind the (dying) trend of dark superhero and action movies.

I, for one, would love to see a Transformers movie with more of a [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) feel and tone. Some humor, but still equipped with serious action and awesome transformations. I think the franchise has a lot of positive things going for it. Everybody knows it's going to be pretty cool - all that matters is making sure the script is tight and the acting is strong.

I'm hoping for a redemption from this franchise, and I think we'll get it.

Do you think Transformers 5 and 6 will be strong?
