As we all know, The Witcher 3's release date has been pushed back till May 19th for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. During these additional 3 months, CD Projekt RED hopes to iron out every single issue that the game may have. Therefore, we can assume that an extra three months means that this game is enormous!
But this time around, we won't just be playing as Geralt, we'll be granted the ability to play as Ciri, a prominent character from the TV show and novel series. Taking a look at the two latter places that Ciri has appeared, we have an idea of the powers that this character will possess in The WItcher 3, and it's seriously awesome. Naturally, if you don't want anything about the game to be spoiled, don't continue reading.
The Witcher 3 - Ciri and Her Awesome Power
The Witcher 3 is sure to be an intensely dark experience for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. With all of the ramifications of our choices left in the dark, we've know idea how this RPG landscape will change before our eyes. Now, with the ability of making decisions as two characters, we have a lot of interesting developments to look forward to.
But how exactly is Ciri going to contribute to the game? She has a very long backstory, and it's one that is entwined with Geralt. I'm not going to go into details here, but let's take a look at how her abilities will affect the gameplay of The WItcher 3!
In the story of The Witcher, Avallac'h and Eredin are out to claim the power of time. Ceri finds herself in a different world, one inhabited by elves where she is held captive. After her escape, she comes across a pile of bones, much to her horror, she realises they are human. She is informed that the world she is in was once inhabited by men, and should she not fight to stop Avallac'h and Eredin, the same would happen to her own world. They would take control and kill all who dwelled in it.
Ceri is being accompanied by a unicorn named Horsey at the time, one who claims that he will help her on her journey. After they realise that they are being hunted, Ciri is urged to use the power of travel, whereby beings can transport themselves to different worlds. Failing to do it herself, the unicorn guides her and awakens the ability within her.
She is eventually dubbed The Traveller of Worlds and gains the ability to venture to these other lands at will. So, the question remains, how exactly will this be implemented into the game? Will we be able to travel out of the world we find ourselves trapped in? Or perhaps use a smaller version of the ability and blink around the battlefield?
