Speculation continues to mount that Charlie Sheen could be making an appearance in the final episode of the final season of CBS's Two and a Half Men.
Rumors originally emerged when Ashton Kutcher unconvincingly squirmed under direct interrogation from Ellen DeGeneres, and now a Two and a Half Men producer has also addressed whether Sheen could be making one final return.
While at the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday, CBS chairman Nina Tassler was directly asked if we would see Sheen make an appearance in the season finale. As you'd expect, Tassler didn't exactly give a straight answer, but she did suggest Chuck Lorre has something up his sleeve. She stated:
First of all, I have to give a shout out to [Two and a Half Men creator] Chuck Lorre. I mean, the journey that show has gone on over the years is pretty miraculous. Chuck is an extraordinary showrunner. I can promise you there will be a lot of surprises, and out of respect for Chuck -- and actually this is a direct quote -- he has promised to deliver what he's calling a ‘mystery sandwich.’ There you have it.
I'm not quite sure what a "mystery sandwich" is (although it sounds like something you might eat in a post-apocalyptic deli), but this does at least keep afloat the rumors Sheen could be returning.
Of course, since being rather unceremoniously dumped from the sitcom, Sheen hasn't exactly been the most ardent supporter of the show or his replacement, Ashton Kutcher. But I can imagine he might be willing to bury the hatchet for one last hurray. Although to be honest, I'm not sure anyone can actually predict Charlie Sheen's behaviour - especially Charlie Sheen himself.
With this mind, let's take a look down memory lane and remind ourselves of one of Charlie Harper's best moments in Two and a Half Men.
