Luc Besson's wonderful Léon: The Professional is an absolutely fantastic movie in many ways. One of them being the auteur somehow managed to retain his usual disregard for logic, regarding the plot, though keeping the film tight, tense and incredibly heartwarming.
Besson had the honor of introducing us to the pocket rocket, ball of talent that was little Natalie Portman, he coerced a particularly creepy pantomime villain-esque performance out of Gary Oldman and, of course, Jean Reno's astonishing turn as the milk drinking, plant loving assassin.
But what really gets me is after 21 years the movie still feels fresh, exciting and wonderfully absurd. That has to be pure testament to Besson's mighty directorial attributes. Some members of the cast went on to glittering careers in Hollywood, and other's diminished somewhat. Through choice, or bad luck. Shall we have a little catch up with a few of them?
