This is going to be a list of my most anticipated horror games of 2015! =) In no particular order...
KILLING FLOOR 2
Killing Floor 2 is being developed by Tripwire Interactive and is the sequel to Killing Floor. This game is set in Europe where a lethal virus has spread and has taken over Europe.
Players must try to survive this outbreak where all help is no where to be seen. What makes this game unique is the excessive amount of gore in it. Each creature that is killable has 22 spots on it that can be blown off. For example you can blow their jaw off or even chop them in half! And once you are done massacring their body you can even kick their brains and guts around like a toy just for fun! I feel like this game is going to make up for all the gore a lot of games don't have that they should.
There is no official release date yet for this game but it is supposedly coming this year if no delays occur. So if you love a good old bloody gore feast and seeing your whole screen turn red, I recommend Killing Floor 2 for you!
Blood Borne is currently being developed by From Software and is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Blood Borne is set in the city of Yharnam and has a Victorian style to it. The armour is cloth and you wield steam punk guns, relating to the Victorian era.
The character you are playing is in search of a special medicine which is known to cure any disease. When you arrive to the city of Yharnam you find that it has become infected by a deadly plague and now the people of Yharnam have become horrific creations. You must now search and scavenge the streets in order to survive and find this cure. Blood Borne is meant to be like Dark Souls with a horrifying touch to it which makes me really excited because I really enjoy Dark Souls. However the game play has some significant differences. For example the character you play is very agile and can move a lot faster doing dashes etc. Combat overall has a much faster pace to it especially with the new Risk/Reward Health regen system. When a player attacks his enemy he regains a small portion of health. This encourages players to have a more offensive style of game play.
Blood Borne is personally the game I am looking forward to most. I feel like its going to make history is the Horror genre of games. Blood Borne will be officially released world wide by the end of March 2015.
Outlast 2 is currently being developed by Red Barrels and is the sequel to Outlast. It will be coming to all platforms PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Outlast 2 will not be set in Mount Massive Asylum like the previous one but in a new location.
Hopefully Outlast 2 can live up to its high standard of Outlast and its expectations. Some of the things I enjoyed in the last game was the great suspense it held in at all times, not knowing what was going to happen next or what could pop out in front of you and jump you out of your seat in an instant! The amazing idea behind Outlast is that it makes the camera your eyes basically and the amount of batteries you have your life total.
Outlast 2 has no official release date yet but rumours have it is coming 2015. So be patient because Red Barrels is only a small indie studio of 12 people working on an entire game!
Dying Light is currently being developed by Techland and will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Dying Light is set in the city of Harran and you play as the protagonist Kyle Crane. You are sent in to infiltrate the quarantine zone in Harran.
Dying Light is no ordinary zombie game it has many unique aspects to it that have never been seen in a zombie game at all. There is a free running mechanic in Dying Light which allows you to get away from your enemies by jumping and dashing across roofs etc. When the sun goes down in Dying Light the zombies change. They become stronger and much more lethal. They get the ability to sprint and free run just like the player. This is where the free running mechanic becomes really cool because it tests your agility and skills to free run in order to survive. You also get a sensor which allows you to avoid zombies easier at night if you don't want to pick any fights.
So if your interested in a unique survival zombie game I would suggest Dying Light! It will be released between January 27th-30th world wide. I really have my hopes up for this one!
