The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer could be coming anytime soon now. Most sources are pointing towards the release of Jupiter Ascending but that should only been considered as a rumour. Either way, Im pretty sure it'll be released around February/March time as [Man of Steel](movie:15593) got its teaser just about a year before it was released. Interstellar got its first trailer a year before its release, and the new Star Wars movie just got its teaser trailer. Seems to be a thing now for blockbuster movies to release teaser trailers a year before it hits theatres. So I don't think we have long to wait.
With the trailer on its way I came up with some things that need to happen in the movie. I have been anticipating this movie for a while now like many others and its annoying that we have to wait another year for the movie. But hopefully its for the best. For this movie to be the best it can there are a few things that need to happen.
CLARK KENT'S DEVELOPMENT
In Man of Steel we didn't really get much development on the Clark Kent side of Superman. The movie was heavily an origins story, focusing on Clark becoming Superman. I felt like referring him more to Kal-El after that movie. At the end of the movie we seen him start work at the Daily Planet so in [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870) we should see more of Clark Kent the journalist. At the same time I want to see his relationship expand with Lois Lane. Again this was something that I felt we didn't see enough of in Man of Steel. Superman's relationship with Lois Lane has always been an important part of the comics and I think we need to see more scenes with the two together. Another thing that they must address in this movie is the aftermath of Man of Steel. How killing Zod would affect Clark, and how the world will react to Superman's existence. Some people will see him as a hero, while others will not. We need to see what kind of an impact this will have on Clark.
LEX LUTHOR AND MAN OF STEEL'S AFTERMATH
I can not explain how crucial Man of Steels aftermath will be in this movie. When 20% of one of the DC Universes biggest cities gets demolished, it does not go forgotten. The damage of which happened to Metropolis sets up Lex Luthor's hatred for Superman perfectly. If Luthor was to set up a campaign to help clear up the damage to Metropolis he can use this as a way to get the public on his side. Then of course its a case of turning the public against Superman, which is a definite due to the set pictures that got posted online. With members of the public backing Luthor this could also send him on his way to President of the USA. This is a rumour but it is a possibility that Luthor could be running for President in the upcoming movie.
GENERAL ZOD'S CORPSE
There has been a lot of rumours about Zod's corpse playing a part in Dawn of Justice. The most recent was that Luthor would some how turn Zod into Doomsday. I personally think that rumour is rubbish and hope it doesn't come true. However Zod's body could be key in discovering kryptonian weaknesses. And to be quite honest, the only way for someone like Luthor or Batman to even stand a minimal chance up against Superman is if his weaknesses are exploited. So I expect to see kryptonite introduced in Batman vs Supeman, and maybe even red sun. Luthor could also create his war suit which we haven't seen in a live-action movie yet. So kryptonite, war suit and anti-kryptonian weapons is what Luthor should get out of examining Zod's body. Also this could lead to the creation of Metallo or somehow introduce a secondary villain.
THIS IS BATMAN AND SUPERMAN'S FILM
As far as Im aware, Batman and Superman are the main characters in this movie. Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor and Lois Lane will play supporting roles along with all the other actors/actresses. [Aquaman](movie:264237) and Cyborg are more than likely just going to have cameos in this movie. People complain about there being too many characters in this movie but I really don't think its as bad as people are making out. Most of the confirmed stuff about this movie evolves around Batman and Superman. Which is a good thing as this is their movie. I hope to see the main focus of this story on these two characters. Why they start out as enemies? Why Batman feels he can't trust Superman? How they come to understand each other and join forces in the end? How Superman copes with people who do not except him? We need to see these two characters stand out above everyone else.
WONDER WOMAN'S INVOLEMENT
Im excited to see [Wonder Woman](movie:45787) finally get the attention she deserves, but I don't want her taking up to much screen time. She should remain as a secondary character which should leave some mystery by the end of the film. If her character ends up being under developed in this movie then Im fine with that because it will hopefully get more people to see the standalone Wonder Woman movie. I say this because if they are really to be focusing the first Wonder Woman movie on her origin then they shouldn't need to involve this in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. They should leave some mystery to her character that can later be developed on. One thing I would like to see Wonder Woman do in Dawn of Justice is to prove how much of a badass she really is. If Wonder Woman is to be fighting alongside Superman in upcoming movies then we need to see her strength and her swordsman skills put to the test. So I expect to see a real awesome character in Wonder Woman but not too much of her in Batman vs Superman.
BATMAN VS SUPERMAN TO BLOW US AWAY
I really want them to knock us out of the park with this fight. I remember when I first saw Iron Man vs Thor in [The Avengers](movie:9040) movie and that took awesomeness to another level. But this dual is so much more. This could very well go down as the greatest fight in cinematic history (well at least for us comic fans). Zack Snyder completely went all out with Superman's fights in Man of Steel. Now we need to see how he'll handle the worlds greatest detective going up against the last son of krypton. Now I know there using The Dark Knight Returns as inspiration (which is probably the best comic to get inspiration from when it comes to Batman fighting Superman) but I hope they address the fact that Superman holds back when it comes to fighting a human. We saw some heavy fights in Man of Steel that may lead people to think "How could Batman possibly take on that?". But as long as they address the fact that Superman holds back, throw some kryptonite into the fight and show Batman's true intelligence. Then it can be done.
So there's the six things that I believe need to happen in next years Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Im sure you've seen other articles based on what should happen in the movie but there's my one, if it comes of interest. Do you agree or disagree with what I've said, let your voice be heard in the comment section. Its been a while since my last article and I plan to get into doing them more often again. Until next time.
