Remember an attraction called 'Maelstrom' at the Norway pavilion in Epcot? The one that taught you Norse mythology as you got to go on a boat ride with Vikings and escape from trolls? If you weren't already aware, your dreams for being a Viking at Disney World are crushed forever because Frozen is taking over. Again. Disney World shut down 'Maelstrom' forever on October 5th, 2014.

Disney World, the place where dreams come true. Frozen fans, your dreams are about to come true because Disney World guests will be able to step foot in Arendelle "for the first time in forever." As of right now, it's been announced that a Frozen-themed ride will replace the now deceased 'Maelstrom.' It will contain moments from the movie that will be brought to life with the help of Disney magic. There will also be an expansion in the Norway pavilion for a royal meet and greet with Princess Anna and Queen Elsa.

The new attraction is set to open in 2016.

A Rant From a Disney World Fan

Being a fellow Disney World fan, I am deeply saddened by this. Frozen was a great movie filled with a great soundtrack and awesome characters, yes. However, I think it's popularity is becoming way too extreme. Due to the major success from this film, Disney is going to go wherever the money is.

I was last at Disney World in July and I cannot even begin to describe the amount of [Frozen](movie:411685) merchandise held in the parks. You can meet Elsa and Anna at Epcot and at the Magic Kingdom. Hollywood Studios held a 'Frozen Summer Fun' party and I found myself singing "Let it Go" in my hotel shower. It was absolutely insane.

Although I don't fully agree with the end of an original attraction for an exclusive Frozen-themed attraction, I will still go and see it for myself. I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for Sven the Reindeer.

Do you agree with the construction of the new Frozen Attraction?
