How To Kill A Zombie In 3 Easy Steps: 1. Choose a weapon 2. Aim for the head 3. Don't Miss!
Dead Rising is coming to the silver screen! The movie will have the ability to rival the best of The Walking Dead series. The movie named Watchtower will release March 27th this year with a cast as strong as the infection itself, it certainly will be one to rival the best.
In Dead Rising, anything and everything is a weapon. In the game I found myself at one point beating down a fireman with a taco then turning around to ‘nail’ a skater chick with a sex toy launcher. You can create your own tools of zombie mutilation with a virtually limitless variety of combo weapons — anytime, anywhere.
A regular sledgehammer or table saw might not be enough to hold off the zombie horde, but fuse them together and you’ll do massive damage with the fearsome Sledge Saw — just one of hundreds of potential weapon combinations. You can even acquire temporary abilities by combining certain foods, like eating pork and booze simultaneously to spit fire!
According to director Zach Lipovsky, Dead Rising (the game series) is more than just a collection of well-worn notions lifted from old zombie movies. In an interview with SlashFilm, he said the game's premise, "brings a lot of new energy to the genre."
"The idea that you can be bitten and remain human as long as you take your medicine every day is very interesting and dramatic. Similar to the social stigma of living with HIV," he said. "Another very cool element from the game is the zombies remember a little bit about their previous lives. There is something really haunting about seeing a zombie cop randomly firing his gun, or a zombie mom pushing a stroller."
Dead Rising, written by Mortal Kombat: Legacy producer Tim Carter, starts shooting in Vancouver this week. It will premiere exclusively on Sony's Crackle service in the U.S. prior to more general distribution via Content Media Corp. Lipovsky has previously directed a Syfy TV movie titled Tasmanian Devils as well as his horror flick, Leprechaun: Origins.
He said that playing Dead Rising 3 is giving him lots of ideas about tonal direction,
"Every time I get scared or laugh while playing, I make a note to add it to the script. Tonally it will be like 'Indiana Jones with Zombies.' Fun, scary, dramatic action."
The cast includes Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die, Desperate Housewives, Dallas) as the lead, along with Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time, Intelligence); Virginia Madsen (Sideways, Candyman, The Number 23); Dennis Haysbert (24, The Unit) and Keegan Connor Tracy (Bates Motel, Once Upon A Time, Battlestar Galactica).
Watchtower was first announced this summer as a full-length digital movie. Rather than release in theaters, it'll debut on Sony's Crackle streaming service before heading to DVD and video-on-demand services. Director Zach Lipovsky, who recently described the movie as "Indiana Jones with zombies," has said the movie takes place between Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3.

Review done! 25,069 Zombies slain, so, as you can probably gather I am totally exhausted after my recent review stint on the third in line of the classic zombie romp Dead Rising 3.
Where to start? Well, we'll start with this: available exclusively for Xbox One, Dead Rising 3 is the third installment in the celebrated franchise and introduces a blockbuster open-world action game that defines a new generation of zombie-slaying mayhem. Dead Rising 2 was vast and completely dynamic when it comes to customization and zombie detail but Dead Rising 3 has an unmatched level of weapon and character customization and the zombies have enough variety in design and actions that I didn’t feel like I was caving in the same people over and over again and at times it truly delivers a heart-pounding experience unlike any other as you literally fight for survival in a massive open world teeming with thousands of undead.
Did I say thousands? What I meant to say was MILLIONS! I have never seen so many zombies in one place. These are the benefits of using the Xbox One as a platform even though it doesn’t graphically look all that different form it’s predecessor, nothing you won’t have experienced on the Xbox 360 or PS3, what it does have is a far greater scale of variation in design, detail and character customization keeping players potentially happy not just for hours but literal months.
In the game and potentially the movie we play as Nick Ramos, a young mechanic with a strange tattoo and a mysterious past who must find a way to escape a city full of thousands of bloodthirsty zombies before an impending military strike wipes the city and everyone in it off the map. Staying true to the Dead Rising franchise Nick can’t do it alone — he must join up with other survivors through side missions and campaign and the campaign story to stay alive and fight their way out before it’s too late.
Dead Rising 3 is riddled with cheesy dark humor and personable and sometimes rather sexy characters, either profiteering or fighting to survive in the new city of Los Perdidos. Again as in Ryse: Son of Rome the use of Kinect was a great tool and heaps of fun whether I was distracting zombies with my “over here” calls or taunting bosses with such phrases as “You’re crazy” and “Calm down”, it all adds that little extra depth to the gameplay, bringing you even closer to those ravenous infected sets of noshers.
And before I forget to mention the innovative motion-capture capabilities of the Kinect by means of making you physically shrug off a zombie that has jumped and attached itself to you. Inspired. Truly inspired.
Dead Rising 3 also places new emphasis on vehicles not only as transportation but as an extension of combat and survival. You can build and customize a huge variety of unique combo vehicles like the devastating RollerHawg, a hybrid between a motorcycle and a steamroller.
I can safely say with no doubt that Dead Rising fans will be blown away with the latest edition of the franchise and will spend weeks upon weeks designing more and more outlandish weapons of zombie killing destruction, finding ever more extravagant ways of blowing away the unrelenting army of the undead that plague Los Perididos.
New comers to the game and movie will be hooked by the same addictive qualities that enslaved the hardcore Rising fans of old, whilst not blown away by the graphical content they will find it almost impossible not to be enraptured by the world of the Dead Rising. One thing is for sure, you can never get bored of Dead Rising 3.
Dead Rising 3 is available on Xbox One with the movie releasing March 27th 2015.
