Star Wars - The Secret Missions

I wanted to start my 2015 portfolio on a high note, so I reached out to my friend Mark Edwards. Mark is an amazing photographer who was kind enough to share some of his photos with me. I received 4 shots of these 501st Sand Troopers, and immediately got to work compositing. The first concept that came to mind was a live action TV show. I was originally going to title it "The Tatooine Chronicles" but it just ended up being too long so I changed it to "The Secret Missions."

I feel it turned out great and I am very happy with the finished product. I would have to say my favorite part about the piece is the hologram of the Emperor. It turned out so perfect and looks like it's straight out of the movie.

I always like to create a darker alternate look for my art. The full color image is usually the most commercial looking version, but for my personal taste I like things with more edge to them. I really dig some of the color tones around the hologram. I think it all comes down to personal taste. You can leave me comments on which version you like better.
