Based off the hit You Tube show, The Angry Video Game Nerd must overcome his phobia of the worst video game in the world (Eee Tee) to save his fans.
I'm a fan of AVGN and this is one independent film I couldn't wait to see. The movie is quick paced, the jokes are funny and I really loved all the subtle video game references. The two main stars work really well together; James Rolfe did awesome on the big screen and proves he can be a star that keeps you watching. Jeremy Suarez (best known as Jordan Thomkins on The Bernie Mac Show) plays the sidekick that looks up to the Nerd and together they work really well together. The one thing I loved in this film was all the cameos, you have: Troma's Lloyd Kaufman, E.T. Atari video game creator Howard Scott Warshaw, You Tubes own Andre Meadows "Black Nerd", Pat Contri "Pat The NES Punk" and many more.
The music is all original so you won't hear the top 5 radio song over and over again which is refreshing. Another thing I enjoyed about the AVGN movie is the C.G., special effects and practical effects. Sure they are cheesy but it's all part of the charm and it's done really well. One of my favorite props is the EEE TEE, it could have its own adventure and I'd watch it.
you can tell from start to finish this film is a labor of love. As an AVGN fan, it's a funny ride. If you have never seen the AVGN You Tube show you may not like it as much so I recommend checking the videos out first.
Cheers and remember life won't suck as long as there is a good movie to watch
