"Oliver Queen is dead".
With the Arrow seemingly dead, stabbed by Ra's Al Ghul atop the snow mountains of Nanda Parbat, there is a hole in Starling City in the shape of a hooded vigilante. Is it the job of Malcolm Merlyn to fill this void?
Arrow will be returning to our screens on the 21st of January with episode 10 titled "Left Behind". Yet, the episode description for episode 12 "Uprising" has just been released via comicbookmovie.com. The description teases Merlyn's involvement in aiding Roy, Felicity and Diggle A.K.A. Team Arrow.
Here is the description:
MALCOLM MAKES AN OFFER TO HELP TEAM ARROW —
Still operating without Oliver (Stephen Amell) and desperate to stop Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones), Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm’s (John Barrowman) offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon.
Roy (Colton Haynes) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision.
Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm’s descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife.
Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Brian Ford Sullivan.
The episode seems to have a huge focus on Merlyn. It will detail his dark past, and how he evolved from caring, fatherly business man to cold blooded assassin.
Hopefully we will get to see some of Malcolm's training in the League of Assassins under Ra's Al Ghul, and finally discover the gritty details of his leaving the League.
We are told not only that Team Arrow are forced to consider Merlyn's offer, but that also Roy and Laurel see the city needs help to save innocent civilians in The Glades. Will that help come in the form of Meryln? And will Diggle's final decision be to push Merlyn's past crimes to one side and put the justice of Starling first?
Furthermore, will Meryln want to help? After all, it was less than two years ago that he attempted to murder everyone in The Glades in order to avenge the death of his wife!
So, what do you think of this episode? Is Merlyn's help genuine? Will Merlyn help at all? Is he going to fill the void Oliver left? What are your thoughts on this episode? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
