Greek general Themistokles leads the charge against invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
The sequel to 300 turned out to be like most sequels; the story looks good on paper but it didn’t catch me. I found myself board, the cast is full of good actors and actresses but no one seems to bring their best. I didn’t seem to care about anyone and I wanted it to end.
The first action scenes was good but it felt like I was watching the E3 trailer for Ryse: Son of Rome. 300 Rise of an Empire is full of fight scenes but didn’t care. It was neat to see the ship battles but it’s the same thing over and over again.
All together I checked; I had no connection to the characters or the story. The fight scenes are awesome but it’s the same camera shots in slow motion so it get repetitive and boring. Cheers and remember life won’t suck as long as there is a good movie to watch but I watch crappy movies so you don’t have to.
