Captain America has always been revered as one of the greatest american icons, and for being a fictional character that's not half bad....

But Captain America is much more than just a character. For my whole life, I've been told that liking superheroes is a childish thing to do and that I should "grow up." But no one truly understands what it means and why i like superheroes like the Captain.

What makes him so great?

Captain America is the ideal human being, both physically and mentally. Emulation of him is difficult, but it's a goal that everyone should strive for. Captain America has the greatest heart of anyone. In real life, it's extremely difficult to find someone who is truly good hearted and not working towards their own personal gain. Cap's selflessness reflects in his actions and interactions. This type of selflessness keeps the world turning and enforces the balance that exists. If everyone tried to be even a little bit like him, the world would be a significantly better place.

His heart is always in the right place as well. In the First Avenger, he stated that he doesn't want to kill Nazis, but he just doesn't like bullies, no matter where they're from. This kind of ideal is what America is all about. He works to make the world a better place by spreading kindness and influencing people with his words and actions.

The star spangled man is a beacon of freedom and humanity. Think for a second how you have made a difference in the world in a positive way either through your words or your actions.... That is what Captain America does every time he appears. This is the reason they couldn't keep him dead in the comics.

Captain America is the kind of good hearted soul that everyone should try to be, no matter who you are or where you are from. If you can make a difference in the life of just one person.

What can you do??

We don't all have to be him, nor as perfectly toned as he is. But if we can be leaders in our communities, advocate for those who don't have the privileges that we have, and make a difference in someone's life, then we have taken a step in the right direction.

That's why I like Captain America and Superheroes.....
