Craig Roberts (Submarine) has been cast in The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, based on the novel of the same name by Jonathan Evison.
Selena Gomez (Spring Breakers) and Paul Rudd (Role Models, Ant-Man) were previously cast in the project earlier this month.
Roberts will play Trevor, a quixotic 19-year-old with a perfectly healthy imagination, though Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is tying him in knots.
Gomez will play Dot, an outspoken young woman full of sass, who hitches a ride with the pair during a road trip, and whose no-holds-barred attitude and lack of embarrassment about Trevor's condition causes him to develop a crush on her.
Rudd will play Ben, a caregiver looking after a frustrated teenager named Trevor who is in the advanced stages of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The source of Roberts' casting comes from Gomez's Instagram captioning the photo: "Meet Trevor and Dot..."
Burnett, the veteran exec producer of The Late Show With David Letterman, adapted the script from Jonathan Evison’s 2013 novel of the same name. Donna Gigliotti and James Spies are producing the Levantine Film and Worldwide Pants production.
