Friday the 13th producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller have squashed rumors that the franchise's main antagonist, Jason Voorhees, would not feature in the upcoming reboot.

Speaking in an interview with Collider, Form said, "I’m gonna confirm that Jason is in the movie. There was a rumor out there that Jason was not in it…”

Fuller then backed him, saying, “Jason is in the movie, that is confirmed.”

In the Friday the 13th franchise, the character of Jason apparently drowned as a boy at Camp Crystal Lake due to the negligence of the camp staff.

Decades later, Jason is said to haunt the lake which is the setting for a series of mass murders. The character has featured in all of the films, as either the killer or the motivation for the killings.

Form also said he was, "working on the script still," but that he hoped to make the movie "this year."
