Peter Mayhew, the 70-year-old actor who plays Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise, has been hospitalized for pneumonia.
Mayhew has played the beloved "Chewie" character alongside Harrison Ford as Han Solo since the franchise began in 1977. He will return again this year for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.
According to TMZ, Mayhew was forced to cancel an upcoming appearance at a comic store in Texas which led to a flurry of fans expressing their concerns for the star on social media.
But apparently, Mayhew's recovery is said to be "going well."

He is also said to be very active within the Star Wars community, appearing at comic stores and conventions on a regular basis.
Get well soon, Chewie!
