A renowned martial arts expert who has appeared in movies such as Mortal Kombat and 300, along with the hit TV show Arrow, has died of a suspected drug overdose.
Although Darren Shahlavi's death was only announced today, he reportedly died on the 14th of January at his Los Angeles home.
TMZ reports that 42-year-old Shahlavi died of a suspected prescription drug overdose, although other news sources are still stating that the cause of death is currently unknown.
Darren Shahlavi enjoyed a high-profile marial arts career which led to him performing stunts in Mortal Kombat: Legacy, Watchmen, 300 and Sanctuary, but he is probably best known for his guest role in Arrow. He had also just finished filming Alone In The Dark with action star Jean-Claude Van Damme.
The star of the Arrow series, Stephen Amell, was clearly deeply affected by the death as he took to Twitter to leave a touching tribute to Shahlavi. He wrote:
