Han Solo was always one cool customer. He had style, swagger and more than a little dress sense - but did his iconic smuggler attire come from another, even more suave Star Wars smooth-talker?!
Reddit user mermanmurdoch has a rather awesome fan theory that may explain the plagiarized origin of Han's classic look.
A lot of people noticed that Lando Calrissian, after being back on the Millenium Falcon for just a few hours at most, has already changed into Han's clothes.
Indeed, you can see Lando in The Empire Strikes Back as the new pilot of the Falcon below:
I don't know about you, but to me it seems pretty disrespectful to steal the clothes of a man who's only just been frozen in a block of carbonite! But, mermanmurdoch has a different idea:
I propose that Lando wasn't wearing Han's clothes at all. Lando used to own the Falcon, and one of Han's important characteristics was the fact that he was completely broke. Those are Lando's clothes, left in the Falcon when Han won it from him. Lando never wore Han's clothes, Han has been wearing Lando's clothes the whole time.
Whaaaat?! So Han was sporting Lando's threads all along?! I wonder if he even washed them...
Indeed, Han Solo won the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian in the card game 'sabacc,' so it would make sense if Lando forgot to clean all of his stuff out before Han moved in.
What a thrifty smuggler!
