Now, sure, Sony and Marvel haven't yet managed to get it together and make a deal to bring Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and, even if they do, there's no guarantee he'd appear for a good old while yet. Even so, though, it's difficult not to speculate on just what the hell he was doing during the events of all of those Marvel movies.

I mean, have you ever wondered just what on Earth Spidey was up to while the Chitauri took a bite out of his city at the end of The Avengers?

Well, if so, I have some seriously good news for you - an enterprising fan (and talented editor) going by the name of R3shar has just posted an awesome video that might just explain Spidey's absence from the original Avengers movie...

You can check it out below...

Yup, that's right...

When Loki and the Chitauri Attacked...

You maniacs! You blew it up!

...Spidey Swung Into Action...

Because, y'know...superhero.

...And Amid All the Destruction...

I tell ya, it sucks to drive a taxi in the MCU...

...Set About Saving Lives...

Even if that doesn't end up turning out all that well for him...

...Only to Get Hit By a Car...

So THAT'S where he was.

Getting patched up for some pretty gnarly truck-related injuries, presumably.

Now, I'm not so sure Sony would go along with it, but if we do ever get to see Spidey in the MCU, I would love to see a reference back to the battle of New York - especially one that showed it happening pretty much exactly like that.

"Seriously, Pete, THAT'S what happened?"
"Seriously, Pete, THAT'S what happened?"

Nicely played, R3shar. Nicely played...

What do you guys think, though? Do you have an even better idea for what Spidey was doing during The Avengers (or any other Marvel movie, for that matter)?

If so, let us know right here at moviepilot.com/creators, and make your voice heard!
