Disney's Big Hero 6 was easily one of the highest grossing, most popular, and sweetest movies to come out last year. It's a fact! A movie this delightful will likely inspire some truly awesome cosplay, but I was not expecting to ever see one as perfect as this one..

Along with her friends Miguel (Tadashi) and Kat (Aunt Cass), artist and self-proclaimed cosplay dork, Jin, has been able to perfectly pull off Hiro's look.

Seriously, how is this even possible?

How?

No, really. How?

Obviously, Jin gets questions like this all the time from baffled fans. To make things easier for us to understand, she has been kind enough to explain how she makes the magic happen on her Tumblr. According to Jin, the look is mostly done through some accessories, crafty makeup techniques and the ability to mimic certain facial expressions. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong.

One of the many questions you might be asking is, "Okay, but what do you look like when you're not in your Hiro getup?"

In her Hiro explanation post, Jin posted the above picture and stated:

This is what I look like without makeup (and like no emotion on my face). See, I’m not CGI. Hahah! My skin tone isn’t completely even as I have some spots that get kinda reddish. You can also see some marks left over from blemishes before they faded away. My natural lip colour is also on the pink side.

The lips, yes, but what about Hiro's distinct teeth? Well, Jin has got that covered as well!

This is really dorky of me, but something that kinda floored me though was the similarity I saw in our teeth. (Not the tooth gap, though — that I had to add mine on with tea leaves/toasted seaweed/a sliver of fabric stuck with dental glue.) But the general shape of our front teeth, and the manner in which the teeth directly adjacent are nudged upwards a bit.

Here's an image of their teeth side-by-side:

Jin's uncanny similarities with Hiro aren't just physical, but also very personal.

I’m going to get a bit personal here, and explain why these similarities mean a lot to me, especially Hiro’s relatively long face and his underbite and imperfect teeth. These are traits that aren’t usually associated with protagonists, and having those characteristics growing up was a constant hindrance to my dwindling self-confidence when I was little.

I was also an honours student and part of an advanced science class at one point, and you can bet that those didn’t help either, and made me more of a target for bullies...It would have meant the world to me if as a little kid, I had a character like Hiro to identify with and look up to and feel like it was okay to be me.

Jin may be an incredible [Big Hero 6](movie:425271) cosplayer and Disney lover, but above all else she seems like a genuinely great person. If her Tumblr post is any indication, she is so grateful and appreciative of everyone's support and kind words.
