Ever watch a movie or a TV show and just think "That actor would be perfect for______". I'm sure you've all been there. Hence the backstory to this article, enjoy all the people I think need to play.
Bill Hader - Freddie Mercury
Bill Hader is that charismatic guy you know the face of. Wether it's SNL or mid- roles in big movies like: Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, etc. or maybe its his great performance in the comedy/drama The Skeleton Twins released last year. He has amazing energy and completely captures the screen needed for this character. Also, Hader's character in The Skeleton Twins was homosexual which of course was the orientation of the great Freddie Mercury which is some good experience for Hader. I know Sacha Baron Cohen is linked with the role but it should go Hader's way.
Leonardo DiCaprio - Frank Sinatra
Another music one here but this one is kinda happening? DiCaprio is in my top 5 actors ever and Sinatra is in my top five singers ever so the idea of this project happening on top of Martin Scorsese is a bit of a dream film. It has potential to be so sleek, cool and above all, classy. Sinatra is an icon that sang the best of music. I wouldn't use DiCaprio's voice to sing (no offence Sir) but maybe get a really good impersonator and add some real quality to the movie. This movie is in production for quite some time and I hope they're filming it without us knowing because I want to see this ensemble pretty bad.
Chris Pratt - Indiana Jones
This right here is the dream ladies and gentlemen. It is the reboot Chris Pratt was born for (and how many times have you heard that). He would be perfect and to be fully honest, I think I would enjoy Pratt more than Harrison Ford himself. Maybe I'm biased or I'm just not nostalgically connected to Ford as tons of people are. Either way the franchise is great and this should just happen right now! Chris Pratt taking over the world pt. 35!
Kevin Spacey - Elvis Presley
This one is a tough situation. Kevin Spacey would play a great Elvis Presley and he's close.. In a tedious way. There's a movie coming out (above) that centers around Nixon and Elvis. Spacey, unfortunately, is playing Nixon. I know it makes sense with his role on House of Cards but don't forget he played and directed the music bio-pic about Bobby Darin the legendary crooner in Beyond The Sea. It's safe to assume this won't happen but I'll stand by saying he'd play a solid portrayal of The King.
Will Smith - Barack Obama
This one is a good call for tons of reasons. Barack Obama is a quick witted, incredibly charismatic, charming dude that shares these personality traits with the conveniently talented Will Smith. They also share an astounding resemblance that leaves little work to the make-up department. This movie is heavily rumored to be happening but has no real confirmation yet. Attach a good production team and a slick director and you have a good, smart film capable of bringing home some Oscars.
Ty Burrell - Lt. Frank Drebin (The Naked Gun)
This is a bit of a passion idea for me. You know one of those you're so far behind the idea of it that you spread the word to anybody you can. I know they're making a reboot *silently praying* but they have Frank Drebin already cast in the form of Ed Helms. Don't get me wrong, he's an okay dude, quite funny but he is no Frank Drebin. Anybody who watches Modern Family will know that Phil a.k.a Ty Burrell is god-chosen to play the clumsy, lovable detective. If anyone behind the making of the movie is reading this, you should really consider the greatness of putting Ty Burrell in your movie.
So that's my ideas anyway, I'll make a follow up part 2 when the ideas come to mind. In the meantime put a comment on the roles you need to see with the appropriate actor!
