The 1997 horror movie "I know what you did last summer" is getting a remake by Sony Pictures. The original movie was about four teenagers who were stalked and killed one by one after they hit a man and threw him in the ocean thinking he was dead. The movie starred Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze, Jr, and Ryan Phillippe. The movie then went on to have a sequel in 1998 titled "I still know what you did last summer" with Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Freddie Prinze, Jr returning as their characters alongside Brandy Norwood, and Mekhi Phifer. A third film was made with a lower budget and new cast titled "I'll always know what you did last summer" that went straight to DVD in 2006. The remake film is being written by Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard. Sony Pictures is hoping to have the film finished for a 2016 release date.
