I have been reading articles and posts on Moviepilot for just about a year, and I must say I love everything on here. I am a huge fan of what Marvel Studios is doing with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). I have always been a huge fan of the comics and annimated TV shows, but here is the thing the MCU completely warped my mind and made me fall in love with the comics so much more. I will be honest, I am a continuity junkie and up until about a year ago I was so confused as to why the X-Men didn't show up to help there Avengers defeat the chitauri, or why would Spiderman not do a thing when they were attacking his home town... But here is the thing, not only am I a continuity junkie (one reason I like Marvel more than DC), but I am also a historian and have a degree I ancient History and I decided to do some research into the cinematic side of things. As most of you know, as do I now, the super hero groups are all owned by different film studios. So to make a long story short, you take my Historian tendencies, my continuity freakness, and the fact that I fixate and am partially OCD, I now can say I am a MCU expert and am up to speed on all current rumors, current "breaking news", and current plan moving on. So with that overly long and over bearing intro to myself (this is my first post), if you are still reading I think I have a great idea, "plan", "theory", or whatever you wanna call, but I can bring Spiderman into the current MCU seamlessly... wanna know how... here you go!

OK well maybe not you Toby, but Spidey, YEAH!!!
OK well maybe not you Toby, but Spidey, YEAH!!!

SPIDER-MAN IN THE MCU...

Because if we were all honest with ourselves there is no way to make Toby's Spiderman or TASM and Garfield's Spidey into the MCU,so we have to make his story fit in the current state of things in the MCU. I've read all the fan castings and I love all that stuff but that is not what I am here to do, here we will look at doing some minor retconning to Peter Parker to make him fit in the current timeline/storyline present in the MCU.

Before Peter, there was his parents...

According to the Marvel Wikia, Peter Parker's early life is as follows...

Peter Parker was born in Queens to CIA agents Richard and Mary Parker. While Peter was still an infant, his parents were assigned to infiltrate the Algerian based spy ring controlled by the communist agent, the Red Skull. The moment the Red Skull learned that Richard and Mary were double agents, he had them killed by one of his agents the Finisher in an airplane crash overseas and then framed them for treason. Peter went to live with his uncle and aunt, Ben and May Parker, in Forest Hills, New York, they became Peter’s surrogate parents and raised him as if he were their own son. Over the next 9 years, Parker grew to be extremely bright in science and became a high honors student at Midtown High School. Parker's shyness and scholastic interest often made him a social outcast and a target for bullies.

So that sounds pretty good right? Yeah sounds great but doesn't quite fit. First off, as far as we know Red Skull is gone, vaporized by the Tesseract (some theorize trapped in it, others say deep in space etc.) but that doesn't matter all we know is this happened...

yeah that looks painful...
yeah that looks painful...

Aside from this taking place the rest of the story would fit fine, but why not "MCUify" this story.

First off lets assume that Peter Parker is say a Freshman in High School at Midtown High in Forest Hills, Queens, NY when the battle of New York takes place (Avengers, 2012). This would make him 14 or 15 meaning he was born in 1997, and living with Aunt May and Uncle Ben since 2003.

Now lets work on his parent's back story. Richard and Mary Parker worked for the CIA, which totally works for the MCU and would fit because of this...

Agent 13, who @ CA:tWS's end became CIA...
Agent 13, who @ CA:tWS's end became CIA...

But putting that aside, why not just for fun and a little retconning let make them Agents of SHIELD, who knows maybe they would have been top field agents with these two back in the day...

they sound like great partners to us!!!
they sound like great partners to us!!!

And just for continuity sake, AoS season three could have a flashback episode and easter egg Agents Richard and Agent Mary. This would give huge MCU and Comics fans an EPIC sense of happiness. And with that here is what the back story could read as...

Peter Parker was born in Queens to SHIELD agents Richard and Mary Parker. While Peter was still an infant, his parents were assigned to infiltrate the Algerian based spy ring controlled by the terrorist in league with the Ten Rings (Give 'em a little Iron Man 1 connection as well). The moment the terrorists learned that Richard and Mary were double agents, they had them killed in an airplane crash overseas and then framed them for treason.

Easy and small change but would fit it in nicely...

What do you think of the back story of his parents?

So now to Peter Parker's Spider-Man origin...

Before I begin to look at where this story would fit into the current Marvel Studio plans and phases, we should look at how Spider-Man gets his powers. In both the Toby Maguire Spiderman trilogy and the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man franchise we see Pete's spidey origin differ from the original in the comics. So for sake of continuity and what not lets go back to the original. Here is what the Marvel Wikia had to say...

While attending a public exhibition demonstrating the safe handling of nuclear laboratory waste materials, sponsored by the General Techtronics Corporation, then-15-year-old Peter Parker was bitten on the hand by a spider that had been irradiated by a particle accelerator used in the demonstration.

Ok, this works better than having to introduce Oscorp and one, Norman Osborn. But to make this fun and MCU tie-in like, lets replace General Techtronics Corporation, with say a demilitarizing Stark Industries working side by side with say Pym Technologies (hence further connecting it with the MCU by again tying Spider-Man to Stark and the soon to come ANTMAN!) or for the super easter egg junkies you could have him be on a field trip to see the said waste being disposed by say, Roxxon (which has made appearances in Iron Man, AoS, and Agent Carter).

Now add this occasion to Peter's life, mixed with the hype of all the Avengers in New York and abroad and you have the perfect storm for this young high school kid to think about using his new found power for good.

Now feel free to take his original storyline which is...

Making his way home afterwards, Peter was almost hit by a car, when Peter jumped out of the way, Peter discovered he had somehow gained incredible strength, agility, and the ability to cling to walls; spider-like traits that he immediately associated with the spider bite. Encountering an ad offering a cash prize for staying in the ring for three minutes with a professional wrestler, Peter decided this would be a good way to test his powers. Wearing a mask to avoid potential embarrassment in the case he lose, Peter easily defeated his opponent.Peter failed to act to stop an escaping thief, claiming that it was not his responsibility to do so. Peter forgot the incident as his fame rose, but days later he returned home at night to find his Uncle Ben had been murdered. Learning the police had the burglar responsible holed up in a warehouse, Peter changed to Spider-Man and easily captured him only to discover it was the same thief he had allowed to escape earlier. Filled with remorse, he realized that when someone has power, he has an obligation to use it responsibly, so he decided to become a superhero.

From here any story arc is possible. He could, like popular, face the Goblin (Mr. Osborn himself). Heck Norman could be retconned as a smaller bio firm connected to Pym Tech, and then he branches off... huge bunny trial I am sorry... but really the skies the limit here...

What do you think about tying Mr. Parker in this way?

Now how could we fit him into the current MCU?

Well to make things short, all this in a movie would have to be phase 4 or later, but with rumor of the Web Head in Avengers: Infinity War, it seems we would need to be introduced sooner, so why not on the smaller screen? I mean AoS and Agent Carter rock! and with Neflix and Marvel teaming up to bring us the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist along with the Defenders, why not lace these with Spidey easter eggs that lead up to a 2017 Neflix original that tells this story... Why not?

I mean we all know these are going to be amazing right, why not add Parker?

We want Spidey, yes we do! how bout you?
We want Spidey, yes we do! how bout you?

So in closing, and if you are still with me thank you, I think this would be sweet and would appease both the classic fan of the comics and the newer fans of the MCU. But I want to know what you think... so please answer one last question or two and comment below, thank you all!
