We can probably all agree Netflix is the best thing since sliced bread and WAY more time consuming. There is nothing better than making yourself a human blanket burrito with a laptop and binge watching your life away until all that's left of your mind is flashbacks and going out in public becomes a challenge to see if you can make it an hour without quoting something from the show. So going from that the only thing that makes life worse is clicking on a show, falling in love then realizing that the show was cancelled. Be warned there are probably going to be some spoilers!
So without further ado, lets go through the list of the five shows I truly wish were never cancelled and see if those tear ducts start a churnin'.
#5 V (2009)
Okay number five on the list is the lovely show that came on ABC for two seasons before it was so tragically cancelled. The show was a remake of an 80s mini series of the same name. It starts with the arrival of a spaceship to the major cities of the world. It seems that aliens who look just like us are arriving on our planet for the first time, but as more plots are discovered it is revealed that the aliens have actually been here for a very long time, placing themselves in influential positions to do the one thing all aliens want to do: take over the world. DUN DUN DUN! Okay that may be a little dramatic, but the show had a killer cast including a priest who made me want to do some very un-religious things to. The plot could have been a bit more smooth, but they tied everything together when it mattered.
#4 Secret Circle
Here we have number four...this is one of the Netflix tease casualties. (Netflix Casualtease that should be in the dictionary now. You're welcome) I'm a lover of Buffy, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries so obviously when this CW show was available on Netflix I clicked on it and was intrigued by episode one. It has a newcomer to a town that seems a little too Sabrina the Teenage Witch for her liking, she feels like everything is off and she is right. There is a group of teens that normally would never be in the same clique that has a specific interest in her, flaming cars, and talk of destinies written in stars. So her first day was just a little bit tense, but when she finds out she is the last puzzle piece of the towns Circle of witches she's done. At least she tries to be. But this show was absolutely CW with the insanely attractive guys and the way too pretty, but relatable girls. It has love triangles, bad guys, and magic...basically the perfect mix of things that you'd never admit you love, but secretly watch with some ice cream on your cheat day.
#3 Veronica Mars
Okay, Okay, I know we got the fan movie so that was almost enough to keep this show off the list BUT I would much rather have a few more seasons than one (truly fantastic) movie. To see more love triangle action from her two boy toys Logan and Piz, maybe some character depth with Dick and just more shenanigans from our favorite blonde sleuth and her Scooby gang. (Like I said, I love some Buffster.)
If you don't know the tragedy of seeing our dear Claire hop of a ferris wheel and then pop up all barbie like in front every camera, Sylar saying something meaningful (there's still hope for Sylaire) then the screen going black. Then you don't know the meaning of a cliffhanger. But there is hope. Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Good news? Heroes is coming back! Bad news? Sylar won't be a part of it. Zachary Quinto has said he didn't want to go back since he's come so far since the show. But c'mon we need one of our favorite Serial Killers! Zack...come back, pay tribute to your beginnings by giving us fans some closure!! Hop back in the ranks of Dexter and Hannibal in our hearts.. Okay my pleading is over. I am genuinely excited to see Chuck star Zachary Levi in the show and who he plays! Truly until I see the show back on TV for real it shall stay number two in my list.
Of course this is number one. OF COURSE. If it wasn't I couldn't live with myself. It was the staple show to explain the power of fandoms. With only 14 episodes before it was cancelled you would think this show was no good. But it grew such a backing that the fans, much like with Veronica Mars, it got it's own movie. But I would much rather have hours upon hours to binge watch and hate myself after than the one movie. The characters are so strong and you get to see a well thought out, in depth world that you want to be a part of so deeply. I still wouldn't mind an in-between show. We know the beginning and we know the end, but I don't think we would complain for some more seasons being made with the goodies in-between. But until the fateful day that may never come I'll just keep watching Castle waiting for more genius references to firefly so I can have a fangasm. So in celebration I am going to give you many gifs and a video to show the lovely little gems of firefly references that show in Nathan Fillion's current show Castle.
