The Harry Potter series is so vast, it really is an entire magical universe. And, like any giant, sprawling universe, there's always interesting details to be found in the oddest of places...

Check out 6 totally random appearances that you (probably) forgot popped up in the Harry Potter movies!

Harry Potter and Dancing With The Stars

Who? Julianne Hough

Movie: Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone

Who knew that one of those little uncredited Gryffindor kids would go on to win Dancing With The Stars TWICE? One of the very few Americans in the Harry Potter movies, talented dancer Julianne also had roles in sexy Cher/Xtina vehicle Burlesque and the 2011 reboot Footloose. Oh, her brother Derek Hough - the dancer who was once romantically linked to X-Factor's Cheryl - also appeared briefly as an unnamed Ravenclaw.

Famous Faces

Who? Ian Brown

Movie: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The lead singer of legendary band Stone Roses enjoys a quiet cuppa in The Leaky Cauldron... he seems like more of a White Wyvern type to me (detail-oriented HP will get what I mean here!)

Choreographer, Singer, Dancer... Hufflepuff?

Who? Mark Ballas

Movie: Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone

Professional dancer and musician Mark Ballas - who is also the foster brother of the aforementioned Derek Hough, dontcha know - was excited to be even an uncredited extra for HP - but was a little cheesed off about where he was sorted, saying,

I ended up being a Hufflepuff. I wanted to be Gryffindor or Slytherin, but... The scene at the sorting hat. I had, like, grungy red hair and braces, and I'm in the Hufflepuff outfit.

Two Boys Who Lived, and One Girl

Who? The Saunders Triplets

Which Movie: Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, plus later appearances

Little baby Harry Potter is actually three little baby Harrys! The tiny Chosen One is played by The Saunders Triplets - and one of them is a girl! I've been unable to find which scenes featured young 'Harriet' Potter, but they are all equally adorable!

I Wanna Live Like the Muggle People

Who? Jarvis Cocker, Johnny Greenwood & More

Movie: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

You knew that Harry Potter mined the greatest talents in British acting, but did you realize the same goes for musicians? We couldn't have just any old singer rockin' Hogwarts at the Yule Ball - enter members of legendary British acts Pulp and Radiohead to make The Wyrd Sisters truly memorable!

Hagrid's Love Interest Just Got More Interesting...

Yes, Hagrid's amour Madame Maxime was played by statuesque actress Frances de la Tour, but did you know that her stunt double was actually strapping lad Ian Whyte? The More You Know...
