To say that Naruto is the BEST anime might be pretty biased, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the most amazing out there.

While some people would say that Naruto is an anime for kids, I would have to strongly disagree. Naruto is a huge story line consisting of 220 episodes, (excluding the Naruto: Shippuden and all of the movies) involving strong character development, a winding plot, and the plethora of characters.

Naruto is the kind of anime takes hold of your heart strings and plays them like a violin. From the very first episode you see the main character, Naruto Uzumaki, pulling pranks and reeking havoc around the Village Hidden in the Leaves, or Konoha. But right when you think he's going to be an animated version of the kid who sits behind you in class making unnecessary comments that makes you want to punch him in the throat. You discover that Naruto's parents died when he was born, and he carries around the spirit of the Nine-Tailed Fox, who nearly destroyed Konoha, inside of him. He's ridiculed and shunned by nearly everyone in the village. Already you both love and hate him and it's only been about 15 minutes.

As he grows up you see him make a few friends like:

Kiba and his dog Akamaru

Shikamaru

and Chouji

Together they pull pranks and ditch class to have fun.

As a kid, I wasn't allowed to watch Naruto.

My grandmother had told me that Naruto was for adults, and that people fighting was wrong, so I was never to watch Naruto.

It was like the forbidden fruit, and from age 6 until my sophomore year of high school I had never seen anime before. Watching Naruto was so bittersweet for me, because as a child I would watch a clip of it before quickly changing the channel. While yes, Naruto is targeted towards kids, you can enjoy it at any age.

Naruto is an anime for everyone!

Naruto has the special quality of mixing humor and intensity that fully takes you into the situation, making you wish you had "chakra" and the ability to perform jutsu like they can. It's an emotional roller coaster that takes you from hating Sasuke, another character, to loving him, to hating him again.

Providing the perfect mixture of personalities and ethnicity, Naruto has the ability to connect your personality with at least one of it's characters.

In conclusion, Naruto has one of the most amazing story line concepts, and characters I've ever seen. If I could recommend one anime for you to watch, it would be this one.
