Like many of you movie fans out there, I love to collect figurines and prop replicas from my all time favorite films. Out of all vinyl figurines available however, 'Sideshow' and 'Hot Toys' figures are arguably by far the best. The lifelike detail on all of these models is simply astounding, and I'm yet to meet someone who isn't amazed by the final product. While these models are easily the most expensive on the market - you get what you pay for, right? Here I've compiled a list of great horror villains that I'd love to see in the Hot Toys/Sideshow collectibles range and up for sale!
The Tall Man (Phantasm series)
One of the most underrated horror franchises in history is the Phantasm series. Period. It deserves more recognition, therefore, more action figures! Sure, there's already a 'Cult Classics' NECA figure (see below), which is pretty average, I guess, but I for one would LOVE to own a 'tall man' 1/6 scale figure!
Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th series)
Yeah, yeah, I know there's already a ton of Jason figures out there - but as it currently stands, no Sideshow or Hot Toys Jason! A realistic Jason replica would be, in a word, amazing. Luckily, Sideshow has actually promised to bring Jason back in the near future!
Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street series)
As you can see from the picture above, Sideshowtoys USED to make Freddy figurines. In fact, there were a few of them - Freddy vs Jason, Wes Cravens New Nightmare, and of course, the one pictured above. I say bring them back!
Now although I couldn't find any evidence of a Betelgeuse/Beetlejuice figurine ever being made on the website or in the archives, Google images has told me otherwise. Isn't it just amazing? WANT.
Chucky (Child's Play series)
In the past, Sideshow has made realistic looking 1:1 doll replicas of Chucky from 'Child's Play'. What they haven't made, however, is a vinyl statue. As far as I'm concerned, this NEEDS to happen, because.... why not?
Ghostface (Scream series)
The main antagonist of the 'Scream' film series may not be everyone's favorite slasher character, but he/she certainly does have a popular status in the pop horror world. So a 1/6 or even 1/4 scale figure could be a pretty awesome addition to a Scream fan's collection!
