It's always easy to choose one side or another when it comes to this two names. Sometimes it's because we make our opinion based on somebody's else opinion or because of the last movie of one of the two companies was better than the last of the other, at least for us. There are other amazing comic book companies out there, with awesome characters and awesome stories, but we always focus our attention in this two, why? Well, with the pass of the years the community of comics books fans has suffer an important increment thanks to the new movies that had been coming out, and it's possible that in this part Marvel has a little more to do with it than DC, this doesn't mean that DC hasn't present awesome movies in this time, we can't forget about The Dark Knight trilogy and his incredible Joker (Together with other amazing interpretations). This two are the only ones that continue to bringing movies every year and developing their characters into the big screen which gives the fans the opportunity to connect with their favorite heroes and villains.
If we think about it we'll see that this two has more in common than differences, they're always looking to bring new movies and characters for us, the fans. And in the process make a lot of money of course, which is cool always they give us something that worth our money and time, but most important that make honor to our beloved characters, that's what we really want to see (Not that Green Lantern movie, had to do it sorry...). I didn't liked the movie but for me Ryan Reynolds is perfect as Hal Jordan, it wasn't his fault.
The process of making a movie can't be easy, to develop an interest argument with this characters that possess a huge power and the form they interact with simple humans like us. Bring that to a world like ours and present this heroes and villains in a way that doesn't look like a joke it's the hard part. Marvel and DC has successfully done that, showing that a super hero movie is not something just for kids but for everybody that enjoys a really entertain it movie. Is obvious that not every movie they make will be a success or that everyone's gonna love it, that's the risk they take, millions of dollars in a risk.
We always have our favorites characters, that's good (Mine is Nightwing). But there is always some people that take it to the extreme and start hating everything that the other company does. "If i'm DC, all that Marvel does is sh**" or "If i'm Marvel, all that DC does is sh**". There is the problem, when we can't appreciate a good movie with a great story and greats characters just because it's done by the guys who made Man of Steel or GOTG. We as fans need to see the big picture that we have in front of us, a universe of characters coming to us, a universe of stories, of epics battles that will take our breath away and will make us wonder ourselves ¿How i being living without this?. That's what a superhero movie has to be, a universe of emotions happening all at the same time in a room full of people dreaming of the possibility of being part of it, even for a second.
Now both Marvel and DC has announce their upcoming movies until 2019 and 2020 respectively . We have new characters, some of the most expected storylines and some AWESOME battles coming to the theaters all around the globe in the next few years. And we're probably going to see the end of a project that has take more than a decade to complete, creating a complex and unificated comic book universe in front of us, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has change the way we see and make superhero movies, connecting every movie and character is probably the only way to bring those big stories from the comics to the real life, and they create that. Whatever our talks on Marvel are we can't deny that in sort way the had make Superhero/Comic Book movie history. Now is the turn of DC to create their own universe with all his amazing characters fighting side by side, and they already started with Man of Steel that in my humble opinion is the best Superman movie ever made and one of the best superhero movies ever. I'm expecting a lot from the DC Cinematic Universe (DCCU), i really want to see these characters for the first time in a theater and i know i wont be dissapoint it of what i see, i hope so.
There is no need to know who has better characters or better movies, we don't even have to think about it, we just have to enjoy everything that's coming, our beloved characters in the big screen, seen it has we never seen it before, seen it fight as they never fight before. We as fans of the beautiful extravaganza that this is just have to enjoy every second of it.
So, that's it. Let me know what you think in the comment section.
