It has been rumored that Michael Fassbender has been eyed by Star Wars executives to play a very popular and coveted role.
That's right, fans, Michael Fassbender is being considered for the role of... BOBA FETT.
What a great piece of news, really. This new Star Wars franchise is really getting exciting.
Think about it. Michael Fassbender ([X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942), Prometheus) might be one of the greatest sci-fi villains of all time.
Even more exciting is the idea of a Boba Fett movie. Holy moly!
The scoop is that the original Boba Fett character will pass down his mantle to another person (possibly his son).
A brief Fett history lesson:
The first clone of Jango Fett, Boba Fett is famed as one of the galaxy's best bounty hunters. After the death of his father (Jango), Boba went on to explore the galaxy. Later in life, as a bounty hunter, he was killed by the Sarlacc.
Why this is sooo awesome:
We are currently in an era of turning villains in to main source materials. What better villain to expand a mythos than Boba Fett? He is perfect for his own action flick. Equipped with a cool arsenal of tech and weapons, Boba Fett is sure to capture the attention of audiences everywhere. This idea speaks to me personally because of my affinity for secondary villains.
One of the best parts of this is the idea of Fassbender playing the legacy that is Boba Fett. This gives writers the ability to create a new, fresh story for the character, while still giving fans the perfect film.
Overall, this film is probably going to be the highlight of the millennium, especially if it features Fassbender as its title character. I can't wait to see this, and neither should you.
