The storylines behind the Twilight mini movies have officially been unveiled, but with confirmation that none of the original cast will appear in the movies, which stars have the ethereal beauty to sparkle as the iconic vampires?

Below is my fan casting for the most well known characters who've earned themselves a spot in the six long-awaited short films, but can you envisage these young adult actors joining the Twilight mythology?

Alice Cullen - Kaya Scodelario

Book Description: "The short girl was pixie-like, thin in the extreme, with small features. Her hair was deep black, cropped short and pointing in every direction..."

Original Actress: Ashley Greene

Alice Cullen features heavily in the short movies and the psychic vampire is depicted at various stages of her life - All of which seem to precede the original Twilight movie.

Bearing this in mind, casting agents will be keeping their eyes peeled for a younger, elfin actress with compact features who is petite in stature, so Kaya Scodelario might just fit the bill.

The 22-year-old [The Maze Runner](movie:575895) star is already gathering herself an appropriate young adult following, and her pale lightly freckled skin would be great for showing the transition from the human Mary Alice Brandon in Mary Alice Brandon File and the vampire Alice becomes with a bit of help from the make up department.

Jasper Hale - Alex Pettyfer

Book Description: "He was blond, like the first, but taller and leaner. His skin was absolutely covered in scars, spaced most thickly together on his neck and jaw. A few small marks on his arm were fresh, but the rest were not from the brawl today. He had been in more fights than I could have imagined, and he'd never lost. His tawny eyes blazed and his stance exuded the barely contained violence of an angry lion..."

Original Actor: Jackson Rathbone

Jasper Hales shares a starring role in the movie We’ve Met Before which will be a romantic comedy about Alice and Jasper's budding relationship.

Choosing an actor so step into Jackson Rathbone's esteemed shoes isn't easy by any stretch, but Alex Pettyfer could just about squeeze into the bill. The I Am Number Four actor's face possesses the same battle-worn qualities that Hale is meant to embody and his lean muscled form suggest someone who has never lost a fight.

24-year-old Pettyfer also has the bonus credential of acting in the romantic comedy Magic Mike, so there is no doubt he know what he's doing when it comes to comic timing.

Admittedly, he might want to stay out of the sun for a few months though!

Young Carlisle Cullen - Josh Hutcherson

Book Description: "He was young, he was blond… and he was handsomer than any movie star I'd ever seen. He was pale, though, and tired-looking with circles under his eyes. From Charlie's description, this had to be Edward's father..."

Original Actor: Peter Facinelli

Carlisle Cullen was meant to be 23-years-old when he was turned, which makes the casting choice of Peter Facinelli in the original movies a slightly older choice for the character to make him a believable parent to Edward Cullen.

Now he has a short of his own and is appearing as a soldier in Carlisle meets Garrett, maybe this could be a good time to be introduced to a younger more vulnerable Carlisle who is still carving out his principled path in life.

With his pale skin and noble face that wouldn't seem out of place in a vinatge setting, maybe Josh Hutcherson could portray Carlisle as a noble soldier in battle?

Getting this The Hunger Games heavyweight might be a big ask, but there is no denying that being in anything affiliated to Twilight can only help raise an actors profile even further through the roof.

Garret - Christian Cooke

Book description: "Garrett came first. A tall, rangy vampire with eager ruby eyes and long sandy hair he kept back with a leather thong. And it was apparent immediately that he was an adventurer..."

Orignal Actor: Lee Pace

I've got to admit it, Garrett had me totally stumped. Tom Cooke can totally match up to the medieval vampire in dark good looks and would not look out of place alongside Josh Hutcherson in the short film, but he is far too short himself...

Do you guys have any idea for tall, dark, handsome young actors with a slim frame? Help me!

Jane - Willow Shields

Book description: "At first I thought it was a young boy. The newcomer was as tiny as Alice, with lank, pale brown hair trimmed short. The body under the cloak—which was darker, almost black—was slim and androgynous. But the face was too pretty for a boy. The wide-eyed, full lipped face would make a Botticelli angel look like a gargoyle. Even allowing for the dull crimson irises..."

Original Actress: Dakota Fanning

The short stories introduce us to a 13-year-old Jane and who better to step into her shoes than the ethereally pale Willow Sheilds, best known as Primrose Everdeen?

With a striking facial resemblance to the older Fanning sister and a talent for acting out tragic scenarios, Sheilds would be perfect as a young a vengeful Jane who is tormented by bullies in the short film entitled Consumed.

UPDATE: Now the Twilight mini movies have been released, let's take a look at the actors who actually ended up stepping into our favorite characters' shoes:

Alice Cullen - Sara Yoko Howard

Although a few actors took on fan-favorite Alice Cullen, Howard had the largest, most memorable role in The Groundkeeper.

Jaspar - Liam Johnson

Liam Johnson was a great facial match for Alice's life-long love, the enigmatic Jaspar.

Young Carlisle Cullen - Justin Rose

Justin Rose played a young Carlisle Cullen on the battlefield in Turncoats.

Garret - Ian Shepard

Ian Shepard was a dashing Garret protecting his sister from detection on the battlefield.

Jane - Elizabeth Kenney

Elizabeth Kenney delivered Jane's moving backstory which gave us an insight into her character and motivations.

Were you pleased with the final casting for the Twilight mini movies?
