The geniuses over at Prince Armoury Custom Creations have gone and done it again, creating another fantastic medieval styled piece of armor for an iconic character from sci-fi/fantasy lore.

This time is Darth Vader's turn in the limelight and his new garb doesn't disappoint in any way. Lets have a look...

Conceptually this was a very challenging project. When you work on a very iconic character you have to think long and hard about how much liberty you want to take with the design.
On one hand you don’t want it to play it too safe and have it a borderline carbon copy; that would be boring. And on the other you don’t want to go so far it is no longer recognizable or make design decisions that puts the fan base up in arms.
The design scheme overall is of course very alternate universe. Ultimately I was going for a blend of Sci-Fi, Medieval, and Mystical Fantasy.

This suit is so damn detailed you could probably get away with utilizing it as a legit suit of armor. If that's something you'd wanna do in the local supermarket and all.

The whole thing is fully articulated, meaning you can cut all the badass shapes whilst having pretend lightsaber battles with relative ease, and the majority of components are made from 10oz premium vegetable tanned leather.

If you like what you see, get over to Project Armory and cast your eye over their incredible creations and how this bad boy was made.
