A true geek legend who starred in the cult sci-fi TV show Firefly has been revealed to be cameoing in an upcoming episode of [The Big Bang Theory](series:200751).

Nathan Fillon, who played "Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds" on the prematurely cancelled series, is set to appear on the show on February, 9.

Appparently, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) spot him dining at a local restaurant and debate whether or not it’s really him and whether or not they should ask him for a picture.

The appearance of Fillon, who has also starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Castle will surely have fans super excited ahead of the show this weekend.

Firefly was kind of adopted by The Big Bang Theory since it first aired in 2007. Set 500 years in the future after a universal civil war, Firefly is known to be Sheldon's (Jim Parson) favorite show - he even inserts a clause into the other roommates contract that stipulates Friday nights must be spent watching the show.

And not to forget Fillon's co-star on Firefly, Summer Glau, also made a cameo appearance during season 2.

Watch this hilarious scene in which Leonard and Sheldon compromise with the girls to do whatever they want!

I can't wait!

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
