Zack Snyder's Justice League has most of it's members cast already.
And then there's Shazam! but we're not here to talk about him.
With no hint of Hawk girl or Martian Manhunter being in Snyder's League there's one more member of this Justice League that needs to be cast The Green Lantern, The Question is "which Emerald Knight of space sector 2814 will it be ?"
Earth's Green Lanterns, There's so many of them to keep track of!
Alan Scott - The original Green Lantern character created in the Golden Age of comics.
Hal Jordan - A science fiction reinvention of Alan Scott Hal Jordan is a member of the interstellar law enforcement agency called the Green Lantern Corps.
Guy Gardner - A core member of the Green Lantern family of characters, and for a time (late 1980s through mid 1990s) was also a significant member of the Justice League .
John Stewart - John Stewart is an architect and veteran U.S. Marine from Detroit, Michigan, who was selected by the Guardians as a backup Green Lantern to then-current Green Lantern Hal Jordan, after the previous backup, Guy Gardner, was seriously injured after getting hit by a car while trying to save a civilian.
Kyle Rayner - after Hal Jordan went on a mad murderous rampage Rayner was found by the last surviving Guardian of the Universe, Ganthet. Ganthet gave Kyle the last working Green Lantern power ring. Aside from Rayner having been in the right place at the right time, Ganthet's only reason for choosing him was because the other choice was a sleeping homeless man so Ganthet simply says, "You will have to do."
Simon Baz - A laid off auto worker from Detroit, this Lebanese American steals a car with a bomb in it and becomes a suspected terrorist when Hal Jordan and Sinestro's fused together and malfunctioning Green Lantern Power Ring finds Simon, and selects him as the new wielder.
Of course Hal Jordan is the most recognizable, a founding member of the league, and one of the fan favorites to be the Green Lantern in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The problem is that everyone still remembers the fumbled attempt to bring him to the big screen. Ryan Reynolds although still a fan favorite to play him has said he wouldn't and will probably be busy with his Deadpool franchise by then. (yes I said franchise, I hope anyways)
The next favorite up is of course John Stewart
John Stewart made his first appearance in 1971 but rose to fame when he was featured as one of the lead characters on the television cartoon Justice League from 2001 until 2004. He continued to appear as a major character on the show's 2004–2006 sequel, Justice League Unlimited. I have to admit that's where I first saw him and grew to like his Lantern a lot more than Hal Jordan's. I wouldn't mind seeing this Lantern.
I haven't really heard a lot of people clamoring for Alan Scott, Kyle Rayner or Simon Baz to be the new Justice leagues lantern. There is however one that should be in the running Guy Gardner!
He was after all the first human chosen by Abin Sur, Hal Jordan was just closer at the time. But Gardner seems to have some anger management problems Most likely due to having an alcoholic father that he could never please and some brain damage. It could have been a lot of things that helped build up his egocentric personality. Gardner might have had brain damage due to too many hits from playing football, a bus accident and/or being tortured by General Zod and others in the phantom zone. Oh and Hal ended up with his girlfriend while he was trapped. All those issues turned him into an arrogant, violent, unstable, and often childish lantern. Gardner believed himself to be the last "true" Green Lantern, superior to all the others, particularly Jordan.
Why he would be good in the JL movie.
Who doesn't love an Anti-hero?
Although there's been some changes in his character through the years his archetype is one of the ultra-macho "red-blooded American male." That along with his instability and problems with authority (he's even gone against "The Guardians" ) could lead to some problems with the other members of the League. He always wants to fight even members of his own team.
His pride comes before his falls
One thing about guy he is too proud to back down and has caused a bit of turmoil with whoever he works with. He gets knocked out easy for a lantern.
Superman & Batman surely would have made up by then
I'm sure there will have to be some inner turmoil within the League. Guy's Narcissistic ways and explosive temper are the perfect pot stirrer for that. Especially with Batman.
Besides who wouldn't want to see a live action version of that "One Punch"
I found a pretty good motion comic
want to see another version?
But who could don the green vest?
Oh yes there must be a vest! It's that 80's style that makes him That Guy!
You may know him as the voice of Killiwog in Emerald Knights or you may know him as the lead singer of Black Flag, the Rollins Band and/or an outspoken speaker of the spoken word.
Just look at his acting chops as the Survival game host in this clip of Wrong Turn 2: Dead End and more recently as a white supremacist on Sons of Anarchy
After all those years on Supernatural I think Dean Winchester could handle a simple ring beside that show has got to be over by then.
That's right Danno from Hawaii 5-O He's got the look, he could pull off the attitude.
Did I mention he's the son of James Caan (Godfather, Rollerball) ? Badass runs in his family.
Before I reveal my personal favorite pick some honorable mentions-
Sean William Scott, Aaron Paul, and Michael C. Hall
So here it is my personal favorite and a close friend of Ben Affleck himself
You've heard them argue,
You've seen them fight together
Come on that would be funny. Can't you just picture Damon and Affleck back together again?
"Hey Batfleck, I got your ring finger right here"
