Pregnancy is a delicate time in a women's life. Where stress, paranoia, fears, and annoying mother in laws aren't welcomed. Yet, they still tend to poke their nasty little heads in, especially paranoia. And one of the last things you need to worry about is whether your baby's actually the spawn of Satan, or if you're being stalked by a demented, child crazed woman (again your mother-in-law). If that's the case, then it's probably best you skip these movies.
Warning, below are graphic pictures, descriptions, and spoilers. Ahh!
7. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989)
No one wants an ugly child, but for some women it's inevitable. Although, some women don't have a monstrosity as disturbing as Ms. Kruger's second incarnation of Freddy. The horror icon brings back his mother so he can be resurrected in the process. Seeingthis bastard popping out of your crotch would be so horrifying, that even your tubes would tie themselves up.
6. The Fly (1986)
A Cronenberg classic, The Fly is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name. In this version, Seth Brundle begins a relationship with a journalist named Veronica, while working on a teleportation machine. He tests it one night, just as a fly manages to sneak in. And after he begins exhibiting changes that resemble a fly's behavior, and unfortunately, appearance. During this period Veronica finds out she's pregnant, and is conflicted between aborting their child (for fear of what it might become), and her love for Seth. Veronica has a vividly terrifying nightmare of delivering a maggot during surgery... Nope.
5. Grace (2009)
Grace tells the charming story of a mother who lost her baby in a car accident (it isn't charming yet). Despite being declared dead she still wants to carry it to term, and give birth. When the time comes, it turns out that not only is it alive, but it also has a thirst for human blood (you see where this is going). Grace, as the infant is called, procures an ungodly smell, and has a knack for attracting flies.
4. Prometheus (2012)
A futuristic movie that takes place in space, and is produced by Ridley Scott is recipe for traumatic pregnancy. Noomi Rapace's character becomes impregnated after having sex with her boyfriend who unknowingly drinks a tainted liquid, and later on has Squidward removed from her abdomen on an automated surgery table... and that's just a sugar-coated description. The overall scene is nauseating to watch.
3. The Omen (1976)
Boy, is this little turd sinister. Damien is the son of an ambassador, and socialite who was switched with their infant when it died in childbirth. As the movie progresses many bizarre things begin happening: a nanny commits suicide, a horde of baboons randomly attack, he violently acts out, and all the coasters are missing (the last one is a lie). The father later on learns that his son is the Antichrist, and the poor mother's so intimidated that she wants an abortion because she's afraid Damien will come after her. Rightly so, because he so does.
2. Inside (2007)
A foreign horror film, ut-oh. Inside is about a mother who is within the last days of her pregnancy when a stranger intrudes, and stabs her stomach with a pair of scissors. The woman wants Sarah's baby, and later it turns out she's been stalking her for months. Even the police (when they eventually come) are no help when she kills one of the officers, and leaves the other brain damaged. They ensue in a fight where household appliances are involved, and when the surviving officer confuses Sarah for the attacker, he beats her stomach with his club. The ending finishes off with a C-section performed with scissors, and Sarah bleeds to death. God, I'm not even pregnant and that disturbs me to think about it.
1. Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Poor Rosemary, what a beautiful fool. Yet, who would guess their geriatric neighbors would coerce their husband into being involved in a plan that includes raping, and exploiting you? Throughout the film, as Rosemary's friends, and family begin dying the more she suspects her neighbors, husband, and obstetrician are in a cult and want her baby. And despite seeking help from friends, and the authorities no one believes her. In the end, her suspicions are right, but she forgot one little detail...Her son is the Antichrist.
