The story of Rocky Balboa is essentially the story of America, personified inside a man and his struggles to become boxing champion of the world, along with his struggles outside of the ring. On Wednesday, November 25th of this year, that story will continue as Warner Bros. has officially announced that is the date that the spin-off, Creed, will open. Not gonna lie folks... This sounds awesome.
The film will be opening against Pixar's animated The Good Dinosaur, Fox's drama The Martian and Warner Bros' sci-fi pic Midnight Special.
Creed will focus on Apollo Creed's grandson, played by Michael B. Jordan and his struggle to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. with Rocky Balboa himself, with Stallone reprising the role, will act as his trainer and mentor. I honestly could not think of a more perfect story to tell than this in this.
Hopefully, with this release date announced, some images from the film along with a trailer are not far behind.
The film was also star Tessa Thompson (presumably Creed's love interest) and Phylicia Rashad (presumably Creed's mother), and will be directed by Ryan Coogler, who also directed Jordan in Fruitvale station.
The film will be released on November 25th, 2015.
