We are approaching a little over a year until the Deadpool movie actually happens. Every fan of Deadpool is extremely worried that this movie is going to be messed up in some way, shape or form. As of now, the only people casted are Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and T.J. Miller who's only rumored. The plot hasn't been revealed either. A year to go and there isn't a plot or a cast, which leaves a lot of doubt about whether or not we, the Deadpool fans, were just worked up again to get disappointed. There is one good thing that could come out of this: Fox and the people writing the Deadpool movie could be taking their time writing a story that will make for a great introduction of Deadpool to the world. One thing that Deadpool has is a very eclectic cast of characters.
Vanessa Carlysle could possibly be considered Deadpool's first love. Vanessa was a prostitute in Boston who happened to come across Wade Wilson in his earlier days as a mercenary. Whenever Wade was in town, the two would hook up and have dinner and sex. One night after a mission, Wade comes to her and tells her that he has cancer and that he won't be able to see her again. Vanessa pleads with him to stay with her and let them fight it together. Deadpool tells her that she was too young for him and that she didn't need him messing up her chances at happiness. Wade left and she cried the night away.
Later, Vanessa develops mutant powers and comes back as "Copy Cat" and constantly tries to mess with Deadpool's head. Most notably was when she shape shifted into different women of various professions to "keep an eye on him." Deadpool knew it was her and played along. She is the woman that every guy wants to be with no matter how crazy she is. She has even gone so far as to let someone blow Deadpool's house up. Regardless of how crazy she is, they loved each other. Whenever she was in need, Deadpool would come running armed for bear.
Killebrew and Ajax:
Deadpool's life has been full of pain. The loss of his parents that he may or may not have caused (depends on who's writing him), the cancer, leaving a woman he loved because he thought he was no good for her, but the physical pain at the hand of Dr. Killebrew still give Deadpool nightmares to this day. When Deadpool washed out of the Weapon X testing, they flushed him to Killebrew and his sadistic partner Ajax. Deadpool would be experimented on and tortured on an almost daily basis. Deadpool would eventually escape and burn the facility to the ground before escaping and releasing all of the patients.
Killebrew and Ajax are directly responsible for the birth of Deadpool. If not for Killebrew keeping him for experiments, Wade Wilson would not have adopted the name "Deadpool". The name Deadpool came from the list of people where odds were placed on when the person would die. A literal dead pool. Also, Deadpool wasn't always a smart-aleck. It wasn't until Wade realized how much it annoyed Ajax that he started becoming more and more annoying ( Repeatedly calling Ajax by his birth name Francis that Ajax hates) in hopes that he would kill him. Deadpool got his wish. Unfortunately, his healing factor kicked in for the first time and brought him back to life. Deadpool would kill Ajax before setting everyone free, but the smart mouth never left and he's been doing it ever since. Probably the most recognisable is his messed up skin. While his healing factor keeps him alive, it also keeps him looking the way he does. A gift and a curse of keeping his cancer at bay.
Death is a woman and she is infatuated with Deadpool. She first encountered him while he was being tortured and she fell in love because he could see her while most mortals can't without going crazy. They spent time together while the torture continued and just as he was about to die and the two could be together forever, Deadpool's anger and rage kicked his healing factor in gear and he could no longer see her while he was alive, but whenever Deadpool dies for a short time, they spend time together and do all the adult things couples do.
Fun fact, The Mad Titan Thanos has an obsession with Death the woman and death in general. He has gone as far as killing billions of people to get her attention, but Death doesn't love him and finds him childish. But she loves Deadpool. When Thanos found this out, he cursed Deadpool with life.
T-Ray is the opposite side of the Deadpool coin. For years the debate has been whether or not T-Ray is Deadpool or if Deadpool (known as Jack then) killed his wife, attempted to kill him, and stole his identity. Over the last five years or so, Deadpool has proved over and over that he has always been Wade Wilson, but T-Ray refuses to believe it. So T-Ray will do whatever it takes to torture Deadpool and anyone he knows to pay "Jack" back for ruining his life. The worst was when he brought back Wade Wilson's wife from the dead, had her fall in love with Deadpool to torture him as he reveals that he killed her and revived all of the people he killed so Deadpool could see them and feel bad for killing them and they could get a piece of Deadpool for killing them. That backfired because it was stupid. Deadpool points out that he brought his wife back to fall in love with her killer (dumb) and the people Deadpool has killed he didn't care about at all. He said he was glad that they were dead and if he could, he would go back in time and impregnate all of their mothers to make sure they were born so he could kill them again. Not the response T-Ray or the dead were expecting.
Every hero needs a nemesis and T-Ray was Deadpool's first real nemesis. T-Ray is a tough guy, a fighter, and has magical powers. All things that will look great on screen. He is probably going to need to have his appearance revamped even if his old look is kind of in now. The one thing that has to be there is the Band-Aid or breathing strip on his nose. T-Ray is everything Deadpool doesn't want to be. He is the perfect villain to start his movie with.
Copycat might have been Deadpool's first enfatuation, but Banshee was the first woman Deadpool really loved. (Not counting Mercedes seeing as how it's debatable whether or not they were married). For Deadpool it was love at first sight, but for Syrin it was business. When Deadpool first put real effort into being a good person, it was for Syrin. When Deadpool was going to kill Dr. Killebrew, Siryn talked him out of it. She was his heart and he started out trying to be a hero for her.
Thankfully, Siryn is a mutant and is under the Fox umbrella and could possibly be part of a Deadpool movie. In the X-Men flicks, she's young so she could possibly be like his little sister who wants him to better himself. She wasn't a major part of Deadpool's life, but she was one of the reasons he doesn't just kill indiscriminately anymore.
Probably Deadpool's best friend. The Q to Deadpool's James Bond. Weasel is the guy that supplies Deadpool his weapons, sometimes get's him his mercenary jobs, and is his common sense when Deadpool gets too emotionally involved in something or someone. For all of the good he does for Deadpool, he treats Weasel like absolute crap. He hits him, verbally abuses him, he's screwed him over, and he's even left him in a torture room. But Weasel has ALSO talked crap about Deadpool, tried to kill him, and has screwed him over. So their friendship is weird, but for two people in the business they're in, it works.
Weasel is very essential to a Deadpool movie. This movie is going to need someone who can kind of balance Deadpool out at times and having a dorky best buddy is going to be great.
Imagine you're a guy who's family are aristocratic mercenaries. You pride yourself on being a gentleman and killing is an art form to you. Now imagine you are on your last hit (he called it his Swan song *rim shot*) and Deadpool falls through the roof and completely ruins your moment. I'm sure you'd be mad. Let's make it even worse. Let's say no one even realises you were there and Deadpool gets credit for all of your kills and gets fame, fortune, and more mercenary work for his calamitous actions during your moment. So what does a guy like Black Swan do? He tricks Deadpool into going to his home and gives him a brain virus (Swan has telepathy) that slowly deletes all the memories from his head. Deadpool eventually gets revenge and gets it good, but blows himself up in the process.
Black Swan is one of those people everyone will love to hate. He's arrogant, he's selfish, and in some ways, he's a coward. Watching Deadpool beat Swan was like watching the every day guy beat up the guy who lost everyone's 401k and didn't care. It was a defeat fitting of a jerk wad and should maybe conclude a Deadpool trilogy and maybe lead into an Agent X movie or show.
Bob Agent of Hydra:
Bob is Deadpool's "Friend". He's actually more of someone he just uses. What's funny is he treats Bob better than he has treated Weasel. Maybe he feels bad for him or maybe that is how he treats his friends. Actually, that is how he treats his friends. Bob isn't a must, but he would be hilarious to have around. Seeing Bob run around looking for a place to hide or badly shooting a gun or just being completely scared of everything, including shadow, would be great. Since Hydra is owned by Marvel, I'm sure Bob could easily become "Bob Agent of Weapon X" or "Bob Agent of..." and a random noise will always come up when he's supposed to say Hydra.
While T-Ray is everything Deadpool doesn't want to become, in some ways, Cable is everything that Deadpool wishes he could be. While the two started off enemies and continued to be enemies, once Deadpool started to become a better person...they still kinda hated each other, but there was a ton of respect going both ways. When their Cable and Deadpool series was going on, they were almost like brothers. Cable always trusted Deadpool and vice versa. The fights they had didn't last long when Cable could blow the back of his mind up. When the two were on an even playing field, there wasn't always a clear winner.
Cable is a very bland character at times (but what would you expect from the child of Scott Summers raised in a war zone), but Deadpool brought out the personality in him. He loosened up a little bit and didn't take everything so serious. It's doubtful that the two of them will get the buddy comedy we all want to see, but fingers crossed and wishing on a magic chimichanga and we might.
Taskmaster and Deadpool have the weirdest relationship ever. Sometimes they're friendly, sometimes they are fighting each other for money, sometimes Taskmaster is doing Deadpool a favour, sometimes he's trying to kill Deadpool, and then you might find him at Deadpool's bachelor party. Regardless, it is by far the most random relationship ever. Taskmaster has the ability to copy whatever he sees someone else do. The first time the two fought, Taskmaster handed Deadpool his lunch. It's been all Deadpool ever since. Whether they're a team or fighting the two of them together is always entertaining. One problem is the debate on whether Tasky is an Avengers villain or a Deadpool villain. More than likely he's an Avenger's guy. But maybe they won't notice.
If I forgot anything or anyone, let me know in the comments.
