Zelda and Link, Snake and Meryl, Mario and Peach. Video games are full of loved up twosomes, but what kind of romances have these digital casanovas inspired in the fans themselves?
You might not instinctively think of gamers as the most romantic of types, but these heart-warming photos may just change your mind! Recently engaged cosplay sweethearts, Chris Love and Kara Kyser, chose to get creative in the run up to the happiest day of their lives, with some awesomely cute Fallout-inspried snaps.
For a little taste of what the Fallout universe is all about, check out the latest game's terrific opening cutscene, in which the player is executed by none other than Friends' own Matthew Perry!
Okay, so the post-aocalyptic wasteland isn't exactly the most hospitable of environments for love to blossom in, but these pics will certainly change your mind!
The (radiated) look of love
The photos were taken by the very talented Joshua Hoffine, using an old orphanage and nursing home as the creepy background setting.
Bride-to-be Kyser told Buzzfeed:
So many people have told us how cool it is we went with something different from the standard ‘cuddling with each other in a grassy meadow’ engagement shoot.
I couldn't agree more - it's so refreshing to see a couple unafraid to break the norm in favor of following their true passions!
'Once I had a love and it was a gas'
The great philosopher Blondie once uttered these poignant words. Who would've thought they'd be so appropriate! I love her war-torn style dress.
Keyser talked about the idea behind the shoot and why they went with the Fallout style:
The video game series Fallout is one of my favorites. I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a post-nuclear fallout and the resourcefulness of people surviving it. We thought it would be fun to kind of tell this story where we got married, but then the fallout happened, but it’s OK because we managed to survive and are still rocking our wedding day attire.
'Stay away from my fiancé!'
It looks like these two are a match born in video game heaven! I can't wait to see how creative they get on their actual wedding day.
