Sorry [Hannibal](series:721010), no liver with fava beans and chianti on the menu tonight, just some human heads.

According to The Independent, police in Anambra, Nigeria were tipped off by residents to a rather disturbing scene at a hotel restaurant that led to the arrest of 11 people, the discovery and confiscation of a number of weapons, including AK-47s, 40 rounds of live ammunition, 'so many cell phones' and, most shockingly, two fresh human heads wrapped in cellophane intended for human consumption.

Of course, this special menu item of human flesh and roasted head cost quite a pretty penny. Apparently, some patrons of the restaurant didn't always know what meat they were eating at such a hefty cost. Take this pastor, for example:

I went to the hotel early this year, after eating, I was told that a lump of meat was being sold at N700, I was surprised.
So I did not know it was human meat that I ate at such expensive price.

He was disturbed to say the least.

A vegetable seller from the nearby market told the Oson Defender that he had noticed strange goings-ons at the Hotel prior to the police arrival.

Each time I came to market, because the hotel is very close to the market, I always noticed funny movements in and out of the hotel; dirty people with dirty characters always come into the hotel.
So, I was not surprised when the police made this discovery in the early hours of yesterday.

While paying a premium price to indulge in rare foods might be right up some people's alley, this is definitely taking to too far.

I thought that eating out would be saving me from my own culinary torture, but after reading this grotesque story, I think I'll just make something at home.

What's the strangest thing you've ever eating? Let me know in the comments section.
