Finally, a little tiny piece of information is revealed about the new Texas Chainsaw movie and it looks pretty cool!

Fright Fest tweeted this pic below...

The little kid with the looming chainsaw shadow indicates through the medium of heavy-handed symbolism that we're gonna see the childhood and development of li'l Leatherface - and I think that's a good direction to go in.

Rob Zombie's Halloween reboot series had some success with his highly-stylized Michael Myers backstory, which lent his re-imagining of the franchise some flair and originality.

A little of Leatherface's childhood has been explored in the surprisingly good 2003 entry into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre canon, where we're told the young Thomas Hewitt is being bullied at school. This plotline was developed in the Wildstorm Texas Chainsaw comic About a Boy.

However, in the original movies, young Leatherface is actually named Bubba Sawyer, so it'll be interesting to see which backstory we are following in the new movie.

New Movie, New Blood

Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo will direct the new Texas Chainsaw movie, and I couldn't be more excited about the choice. The French pair brought us ultra-violent Inside (2007) and the bizarre music-video-style horror Livid (2011) so I'm daring to hope that, with them at the helm, we will usher in a new age of finely-tooled and nastily brutal Texas Chainsaw movies.

Here's hoping... what do you guys think?
